NFP today - +244k jobs?

Birth/death model accounts for: +175k
McDonald's job fair accounts for: +62k

so, the rest of the economy accounted for 7k jobs?

And this is good news? Seriously?

And more from the BLS:
....while the labor participation rate remained flat, the total number of people not in the labor force as an absolute number hit a new all time record of 86.248 million. And just as relevantly, the total number of "people who want a job now" jumped by 232,000 from March to April to 6.482 million, just short of the previous record of 6.643 million.

Maybe if we are all lucky, Burger King and Arby's and Pizza Hut will hold job fairs next month and find minimum wage jobs for all of these people.

Lumi:

I am sure some on here will view it that way.

I am an 'ist' - just not a race one.

I am a realist and do not believe the hogwash coming from the State......

The US has ceased to be a free market capitalist economy. Our 'economy' focuses on three groups:
Wall Street Banks
Military-industrial complex
Multinational corporations.

Ending the FED would be a great first step but I do not expect the uber elites to go down easily. Their carefully contrived system is failing - it is evidenced in the financial markets and the increased margins for precious metals is a red flag.

I am still bullish physical precious metals.

I haven't looked around much today - who is saying this is a good number or good thing? I had Fox News on as I'm going about my morning, and they've spent a good portion of the morning with experts talking about how bad this is - this much I can say for sure.

I am watching MSNBC and their recruiting commercial for the USN and the SEAL Team.

It doesn't take an econom(IST) to figure out that the job market is screwed ! Nor does it take one that the unenjoyment numbers are a farce.

The opposition, most of the time, MSNBC, the Ministry of Truth and Information will tell the minions that if you opose Barry on anything, you ARE A RACIST !

If Barry likes ketchup on a hot dog, which I don't... therefore I must be....

Lumi, is the reporting on this number on MSNBC suggesting this is a positive report? Maybe so, I'm not watching it today - too nice outside.

it's total BS, what's, as far as I'm concerned.

I am not blaming Obama. I did not believe the #'s under Bush, either.

Believe what you want. I am calling Bullshit.
