Cuse -4 over Memphis
Both teams are going thru new scoring options.Memphis lost DeJuan Wagner who not only scored many pts but handled the ball a lot.Wise graduated and McFadden transferred.Thats a lot of pts and bds to lose.Throw in Burks the pt gd who is suspended for 3 games.He drove a Cadillac de Ville over the summer that wasn't his.He is Calipari's player to run the offense.Hunt a 2 gd not a pt gd will replace him for the next 3 games.
Cuse lost Shumpert and Williams who transferred to Iona.On top of that Cuses pt gd Edelin is also suspended.He must of got a ride in the de Ville.
Memphis has 7'0 Barron back and he is a workhorse.He avg 9 pts and 5 bds a game.Around him are some role players in Grice,Carney,etc.They have Richmond and Massie ready in Jan.Rice is there outside threat.
Big weakness is in the paint.Barron doesn't have to much help.
Cuse has Carmela Anthony.All everything in HS.But this kid is battle ready.He played in AAU tourneys with top talent.Called a "phenom" he will live up to his billing.He can score,rebound,pass,etc.He is the type of player that makes everyone better.And that is the key.Shumpert and Willians made nobody better.
Boe has some talent back.Duany and Warrick are slashers at 6'6 and 6'8.Forth is 7'and has improved.Off the bench is "he man' McNeil at 6'8 260.
Super frosh from Scranton,Pa is McNamara at pt until Edelin comes back.Duany at 6'6 is playing gd.
The main question about tomr's nite game is which team learns how to play together with all the new characters in the "play".Who are the leading actors,supporting actors,and stage hands.
Boe's team play more free lance and will fast break with a Carmelo.Calipari's team are coached better and play great defense.Lyr his team was ranked 13th in defense and one of the best in FG % and 3 pt. shooting defense.
You have one of the best practice coaches in Calipari going against one of the worst in Jimmy Boe.But Boe is a good coach.He really has a bad rep.
Boe will run his 2-3 defense.He did play the other nite vs.the All stars man/man but he will go zone.And why not.Memphis has its best shooter playing pt.And Memphis the other nite playing another All Star team asked the team to play a 2-3 zone to get ready for the Orange.And memphis had a tough nite shooting.
Rice lyr was the Tigers 4th option to score.Now he is being asked to be the No.1 option if Barron doesn't get the ball.Anthony is the No.1 option to do everything.Memphis one solid player is Barron.But the zone will negate some of that.Cuse can drop a gd or fd down to help out on Barron.
Memphis will have matchup problems with Cuse.Playing Carmelo man could be tough.

Barron and I'm not sure if they can shoot the ball over the 2-3 zone.Cuse has some beef and greyhounds.
It's still early in the season but I think its showtime for Carmelo in the Garden.Cuse wins this by 6-10 pts.But Cuse could blow them out too.
