OUTRIGHTS:
"This blessed plot, this earth, this realm, this England."
Darren Clarke(9/1) e.w. @ GolfingGods
- - Notwithstanding a couple of correct calls on Clarke over several years, there simply is no player on any tour that I have customarily been so egregiously wrong about when including a play for or against him on my card. This week I'm liking his well known passion for Forest of Arden, the close ISM affiliation with the event, and taking his family life day to day and having it show in his golf, coupled with a clearly more confident putting routine, all as offering strong possibilities for a signature performance.
Steve Webster(66/1) e.w. @ 5dimes
- - A prior week's bet from a longshot winner always stays on the table without a compelling reason for picking it up.
Michael Campbell(66/1) e.w. @ GolfingGods
- - I had a genuine inkling and almost placed a wager on Cambo at 100/1 at the Johnnie Walker Classic; he then went out in tough conditions on Sunday and had answers I thought he might not have to finish the effort, and then followed the next week with precisely the type of T-46 performance I had plotted for him . . . Campbell surely believes that avoiding another struggling start, this time kicking off the season in Europe proper, is almost an imperative at this point, and a look at his recent putting stats convinces me there's a real threat here.
Garry Orr(100/1) e.w. @ Bet365
- - Stan's write-up last week put me in Orr's camp, and it felt like validation when the dust settled on a low profile T-10. A player that absolutely loves Loch Lomond will be close to his element on the grounds of the flatter Forest of Arden, and a former British Masters champion arrives and carrys around with him a very tangible angle.
