Flying to Dallas Friday to go see my Pokes in the Cotton Bowl on Saturday.

Got club seats and Looking forward to seeing the New Texas Staduim. Should be a hell of a time. Staying downtown at the Magnolia Dallas. Wanted to stay at the Hyatt with the team but sold out. Can anybody recomend a place to take my beautiful wife to eat downtown. Would be nice if within walking distance but if not can take a cab. Never stayed in Downtown Big D.

The wife and I just moved out of our downtown condo.. I can tell you anything you need to know..

If you want to stay Downtown check out Stephen Pyles.. Some of the best food I have ever eaten... but uhhhhh bring your check book.. Its very pricey.. Bobs Steak and Chop house has amazing food.. as well as the new restaurant in the Ritz Carlton.. You need a reservation at all of these places.

If you want to walk you are right on top of Main street..The new Jule Hotel is right by you. They have a nice restaurant there.. The Iron Cactus is within walking distance for you too.. Decent food.. Good atmosphere..

Across the street from those two there is a decent tex mex place.. Cant really remember the name but i think its something like Sol del Indlenes or close to that.. you cant miss it. Decent but not as nice as anything listed above.. Easier on the wallet though.

If you guys want limitless options with a ton of good night life check out Uptwon off Mckinney ave.. You can take the trolly up and down Mckinney.. Get ready to see hot ass

Check out victory park as well.. If you are into the club scene The Ghost Bar is in the W hotel on the top floor.. Lot of cheese dick people in there but the views are good.

In victory park you have a Dicks Last Resort which is always a blast as well as the new Hard Rock..

Avoid like the plague the West End and Deep Elem.. these places were popular tourist spots but they are dead dead dead and full of bumbs and white trash..

If you have the time.. Check out Petes Piano Bar in Addison.. I swear it is the most fun you will ever have! Take a cab though cause you will get shit faced.

Shit I almost forgot Louies! It was on that show Dumps Diners and Dives on food network.. Its a dump and the two guys from Chicago who started it are dicks but the freakin pizza is the best!

I could go on and on.. Its a fun city if you know the spots.. i miss living down there.. But had to grow up sometime.

I travel all over the US and Baltimore/DC area is one of my favorite areas to eat

BUT don't tell someone they don't know what they are talking about or impossible if you have not tried them. All you have to do is know how to make them properly, which they do in Maryland, but that does not mean other places do not know how. Hell, I can make them right here in my kitchen and you wouldn't know you did not get them in MD!

Sorry, I disagree Andy.

There are a lot of places up here that pick the crab fresh and make them right off the bay or Eastern Shore that day. For one, you'd probably be using canned crab meat or crab that had been driven/flown in. Plain and simple, not as fresh. Also, the Chesapeake crabs have more of a "buttery" taste than regular crab (they're just plain better).

In my above posts to Danny and yourself, don't mean to offend you guys just offering my opinion on the subject.

Everyone has their own tastes and I filled my taste buds with crab cakes 4 times in 3 days last month when I was in the Balt/DC area:mj07:

I even told Jack about a place that he never heard of that I think may be the best I have had:scared

I will try them and let you know. Definetly will be eating a Pappy's for one. No expert on Crabcakes though. Had some pretty good ones in Ponte Vedra.

However the three brothers who started Pappas are not Texans.. They are cajuns from New Orleans..

Gib, last time I was there, and sorry don't remember the night of the week, they had $3.99 dozen oysters for happy hour and I had 3 dozen of those bad boys:00hour

may want to call them and see what the happy hour specials are now

love that area off I-35 with all 3 of the Pappas restaurants right next to each other and last month when in Houston, I had there BBQ restaurant downtown which was great too..... enjoy:toast:
