Ok, looks like we are ready for the race tonight. I believe our winner tonight comes out of the first 3spots.

Kenseth: When he sits on the pole (Which is only 4 times in his career) He is strong for the race. He has a great pit crew that can get the job done as we all know and having great pit selection will be a key in this race. Top 7 in the last 3 races at this track.
Avg. time in final practice for 37 laps 28.69

Gordon: What can you say about this guy. Having a great year and of course has good sucess at Darlington. Has finished in the top 3 the last 5 races at this track.
Avg. time in final practice for 24 laps 28.66

Newman: This team has been coming on and hungry for a win for Stewart-Haas. Been in the top 7 4 times of the last 6 races this season. Been in the top 6 3 out of the last 4 at this track. Look for a strong showing out of this group tonight.
Avg. time in final practice for 31 laps 28.66 same as Gordon.

Dark Horse

The Biff: Has won at this track 2 times but not a strong finish in the COT. However started on the pole last year and lead 95 laps and was up towards the front for over 220 laps till engine trouble caused a 43rd finish. Has finished in the top 7 3 out of 4 of the last races this season.
Avg. time in final practice for 25 laps 28.57

One huge note for this race is Jimmy J. he will be in a back up car and start in the back due to a crash during qual.. Has finished in the top 10 8 out of 10 times at this track. Won it twice, and this team is know for bouncing back.
28.90 avg during final for 41 laps.

Picks:
Newman @ +2000 WOW
Gordon @ +450
Kenseth@ +1000 (seems like good value)

Good Luck Griff.

Kenseth odds seems strange to me as well.
I got them at 12-1 at one of my books.
Like you said strong when on pole, great pit crew, and has #1 pitbox(huge considering his crew),and he won here last night.
If he stays clean then he will clearly give you a great shot at it in the end.

Yahoo fantasy team

A group:
18 in the race.
16 on the bench (trying to match another guy in the same league on this one hoping he picks 18 also or I would play 16)

B group:
11 in the race
39 in the race
1 on the bench
88 on the bench

C group:
77 in the race
82 on the bench DNQ

I am 2nd with this race to go till resets and only 45 pts behind. So I tried to match a few drivers he has but know he can't pick the 39 and 77. Need him to have some trouble with he's C driver and whoever else he picks in the B. Crossing fingers!!!:00hour

I think there is check out kegray's thread on last night race laid I think 150 down and got paid 560 with a few different bets on winners for the race. As you know I been looking into it the past few weeks. (I know 100 times more about NASCAR then NBA that's for sure) Just trying now to figure out best value bets to make. If I'm going to watch every race anyways might as well make money doing it.

Only sport I finish up on week in and week out.
A wreck can ruin a handicapped day with ease, but following practice runs, past results, and currently how they have been fairing makes it somewhat easy to say which guy will run well.

Big name matchups are sucker bets usually as they can be toss ups.
Look at matchups like this weeks Allmendinger vs Waltrip as plays.
Everyone knows Waltip has the weaker car/team and he usually does something stupid on top of it.
Case in point Saturday night.

Thanks guys, looking to add MMA, boxing and NASCAR to my toolbox but I know it's going to take a while. Wagering slows down a lot for me in the summer (capping time spent) so I thought I'd 'learn' some new skills.

Are there "system" plays in NASCAR? Is capping a ballpark like capping a track? I have a boatload of questions of course, is there a web site I can check out to give me the basics on betting NASCAR? Thanks in advance.

Here is a good site for past Nascar results and what every driver has done any year at that track
Gives you good insight and a good idea of history to look back on each week based on where they are at:

kegray I like that site will have to add it to my list. I like http://www.racingone.com/ then go to driver avg. gives a list of all the driver finish for like the last ten year all on the same page together which I find easy to read. (like to keep things simple):mj07: Will have to work with yours a bit to see what I can get out of it, which at first look seems like alot. Thanks.

It does a good job of kind of telling you what happened, who led most laps when and how many cautions. How many laps were led by each driver.
A real good breakdown of every race.

There are many good cappers in here that post on a weekly basis and most have similar thoughts each week so that can help as well.
