There's no doubt that some Packers players did offer teammates monetary incentives for good performance in games the last two weeks, but that money was reportedly never paid and the whole thing is put down to miscommunication.
Jason Wilde, a contributor to Tuesday Night Touchback, says an NFL source pegs corners Charles Woodson and Al Harris as offering $500 to each defensive lineman if they slowed down Adrian Peterson and stuffed the Carolina Panthers running game.
The team is cooperating with the league's investigation into possible bounty violations.
Not surprisingly, the players did not want to say too much about the ongoing investigation. Neither Woodson nor Harris admitted as much, but in no way would their intent be malicious.
Woodson said, "I didn't know that the league had a strict policy on it as far as what you can't do, but I know one thing about our team, nobody went out there trying to hurt anybody even if there was some sort of bounty. We are not those types of players."
