well since my last thread was sent to the dumper, for what reason i have no idea, here is the latest

critter ridders wanted to charge me 50 bucks just to come out and give me an estimate. I told them to go to hell.

so i have decided to do this by myself. i just bought a high velocity pellet gun and i will shoot any squirrel that even looks at my yard or house. if it is these bastards that are in my attic they will soon learn a leason. it sounded like a damn circus up there this morning and my understanding is that if it was a coon that it would sound much louder like something was coming through the ceiling. the momma coon that i have seen must weigh 25 or so lbs so i am thinking it's not her, although it could be her young :scared ...

after my squirrel hunt, traps in the attic will follow with tasty sardines and peanut butter and crackers will be the bait.

"have a heart" is coming out monday to see what they can find up there, but i will see what i can do in the meantime. anyone know the daily bag limit of squirrels? do i need a license :com:

Borrow a friends dog and let him harrass the devils once a week.

Or you could just start eating them yourself. There should be a recipe on the net somewhere.

Put one of these in your attic...as was mentioned, the last thing you want to do is wound one of these bastids in your home.... They WILL find a hiding place and die and you will reap the benefits all summer.... :com: :com:

definitely hunting out of season, but it's not a problem to get a nuisance type permit. I'd pursue that first, then, if the neighbors get squeamish about you shooting a pellet gun, the most you can be cited for is that without a game violation to boot. If the police were called about you shooting a pellet gun, they wouldn't do anything but come out and tell you to stop shooting.

Squirrels are also easy to trap. As mentioned, I wouldn't shoot a squirrel in the attic with anything less than a .410 shotgun. You want some stopping power. You can shoot a .410 loaded with #9s, and if you watch, you won't do much harm to your attic. I've killed them in my folks attic with this setup before with no problem, and they're laying there for you to pickup and dispose of.

If you're going to do that, you better wear some safety goggles.... :scared :scared

Clint, now i'm FAR from a hunting expert, but how much 'stopping power' do you really need to kill a freakin' squirrel.
