Couldn't agree more, Weasel. While I have never been a huge De La Hoya fan, he has never done anything to embarrass the sport. Vargas was the typical disgrace that litters the boxing arenas today. His loss makes many of us very happy. I'm sure he will have plenty of excuses; the 10 oz gloves, the referee, the promoters - everything stacked against him. He'll never admit he just got whooped.
hell he could not talk he had a concusion,he passed out in training room they took him right to the hospital.
he ran out of gas in the 6th was not throwing the hard body punches that he was at first and trust me oscar was caught by early power in the first 5 rounds and hurt,but then he made some adjustments and just peppered his face with punches his hands were down from the 6th on and it was a hard punch that took him off his feet head bounced hard off of the floor,then he was in the corner just taking a beating i bet he was hit 15 times in 8 secs and could not throw a punch and they stopped it.
it was ok seen better also seen worse,but he was picked apart from the 6th on he might of won the 9th but that was it. one judge had him ahead varges by 3 points i was told by a friend who writes for the rj,now that must of been a blind judge will see who it wasin the paper but there was no way he was up 3 at that point i had him needing a ko or rounds 11-12 2 point rounds just to be a split maybe.
up 3 points thats why i say boxing is more to the people involved then the fighters,you need a ko just to feel safe when you bet i made a ko bet when i got there a guy named sharpaee sp? he called that because he looks like the dog and livingston bramble told me to they said it would not go 12 so that was nice info bramble is not a big guy like he looked on tv but he still looks mean.
