This story was from a football report, but it pertains to ALL professional and college sports.

The reliability of injury reports from ALL sports may be compromised.

This law is NOT just football but all sports.

Handicapping is tough enough, but with an erroneous injury report (or omissions), what chance do we have?

This could also affect ALL sports books in that an injury could be hidden from all except a few big bettors.

The original article mentioned in this report was from the New York Times.

Buster Olney (NYT) - June 11, 2002.

"Baseball; Law may forbid leagues to say if a player is hurt."

Again, this affects all sports, college and professional.

Unfortunately, the NYTimes article is pay per view.

If anyone has a subscription to get archives, please post the story.

Maybe someone with a business license can use it as a tax deduction?

4Bubba,

4Bubba,

this is not good news at all. Lets see how powerful the NFL is. We could all be slaves to false info about injuries that skew the lines of not just some games, but everygame!

As far as I can tell, the act has already been passed. The only question is if the college and pro teams can convince them it doesnt apply to sports.

If anyone does find that out, please post.
