Anyone paying attention to the Sonnen CSAC trial for his failed PED test. They cut his suspension in half after the trial. Basically he's saying he's on TRT and he had informed them, they're saying he didn't.
Talk about slippery slopes in athletics and IMO it's allowing TRT. First, pretty much all men over 35 are going to be short on test. I can promise you that any of you guys that are over 35, if you went to a wellness doc he would say you are low and prescribe you TRT. Not a big deal but there are different ways to administer it. Gels, patches and shots. Sonnen does shots. The thing about shots is that you can't say well I just need to get my levels up to par and I'm good. When you first take a shot it has to be enough to keep you at a certain level until your next shot. Because of the half life of test that means that for the first few days you take the shot you are going to have very high levels. As far as the CSAC goes it's ok to be on TRT as long as they know.(I believe Couture is on it) The problem is that it's basically makes it ok to be on test at PED levels because all you have to do is say you took your shot within the last few days and that's why your levels are high. There's really no way they can bust you as long as your up front before the test.
You can also add HGH to the picture because most wellness docs will prescribe that as well because again if you're over 35 your IGF levels will be low.
Bad stuff IMO. I just don't think they can allow TRT. If you're old then that's just part of life, especially as an athlete.
