Hey guys.

Instead of retreading the deck, was considering this product. I know there are quite a few brands out there. Anyone use any of them? If it does what it says it's going to do, may take my old beat up deck and make it look Azek quality.

Anyone try any of the brands?

TIA!

Jeremy

Not familiar with the product you mentioned but I did my deck with the restore product by rust-oleum this weekend.

Pain in the ass process and an all day job but the final product looks great and it's easy to walk on, almost a rubberized type finish. Some people compare it to rhino lining for your deck. I wasn't happy with the color so I'm going to run another satin color over it next weekend but over all the product seems to work as advertised.

I'd read about people watering the product down a bit which I also did. I used a standard roller for the first coat then the recommended roller for second application to give it the raised surface. It fills the cracks and nail heads as advertised.

Good luck Hog, let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks for the advice. There seem to be a ton of those type products out there. I probably will do a little research on all of them. Same type idea.

On the rails, do you think I could brush them?

Going to pressure wash first, then give it 2 good coats, per instructions.

Thanks again.

Jeremy, is your deck a functional deck or do you just piss off it like Jack.......

I'm missing the reference but I'll say piss off it like Jack. When the friends from Maine come by, that's what they tend to do. I guess there is no plumbing in Newport or Sullivan.

I didn't do my rails, I was more interested in the deck surface for my kids and dogs. But what I did read is you can use the standard stain for those areas. Restore of course has the same colors in the stain to it matches. Good luck with your project!
