tipping is a ridiculous concept and I can totally see and understand why it is an uncommon practice in other countries.

something should cost what it costs. if there is a service charge or delivery fee, that is fine.

in a restaurant where it is common to tip, you tip based on your service. so if they do a terrible job why do you not get money off? why not work both ways :0074

not to take away from this article and film piece though. great piece of film, can really see the angle the creator is going for with his artistic and close up half face shots.

Nope. Most of the world agrees. In Japan it is considered rude to tip because good and exceptional service is *gasp* EXPECTED. Imagine that.

I completely understand it is the culture in the US but when you see how other countries work it is pretty funny that in the US you are expected to give a considerable amount extra on top of what you already paid for the service/item.

US is overly generous when it comes to tipping. A lot of countries either don't tip or tip rarely in circumstances when you've received GREAT service. And even then the % is much lower than the US.

Maybe people not tipping in the US are just catching up with the rest of the world. :0003

WTF the video is me AND I dont fucking care about other countries i live IN the fucking united states of america.
When i 1st started delivering at least a $!

Making the point again here that more stiffs exist today like 45 years later and people are making way more money than back in 1975.

What drivers have to do in every place they deliver for.

#1 Double check to make sure all items are there.

#2 Take closest delivery 1st Unless the further one is like 45 mins old already.

#3 Clean the floor; Mop the floor; do dishes; stack soda daily.

#4 Inform the guys of any traffic cut offs blocked streets etc...

#5 Drive under or above main center of city when traveling west to avoid rush hour jams from 4 pm till 8 pm.

In other words Know your city or area that your working in.

#6 WE have to work till deliveries stop getting called in which means many nights work way past closing.

Let me assure i'm fucking exhausted fri n sat nights we are open till 4 am.

#7 worst of all problems are caused BY FUCKING CUSTOMERS.

How can you not answer your phone when you know that within 1 hour YOUR Food will be there.

HOW can YOU Not know exact street address of the fucking $250 a night hotel your staying in.

HOW In gods name does it take YOU 5 - 10 mins to come down from the 3rd floor of your apartment building?

WE have to go through all this troubles trying to get in touch with customers and they have fucking nerve to only let me coins change or zero tip me??????????

I just do not get it and i'm getting stiffed at 25% rate YUP either only coins or zero on 25 deliveries out of 100,

WE also have to repair maintain vehicles with our own money that cost is at least $50 per week.

Get falt fixed $15 even if tire is off the car.

fill antifreeze ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm top brands cost so much today it's wild as high as $16 for 1 gal.
1 quart of oil $2.75 - $5

salary is at most places $4 per hour and How much do u get paid per hour what was that o yeah $8 - whatever per hour.

YEAH YEAH I know we do not pay taxes BUT do you spend 10$ - $15 to do your job?

Even if waiter or waitress does it Cost you $$ to serve your customers?

NO MFW no mater what job you have like even in best buy they walk around and help customers find answers or products.

SO ending on this NOTE Before YOU tip put yourself in my shoes think about what your getting from delivery drivers.

How would you feel driving up to 4 miles through jammed traffic in all kinds of weather and when arrive cant get in touch with customer.

Sure i wouldn't tip any driver who gives me that miserable attitude and is talking on phone while waiting for a tip.

I'd say sorry that all i have i'll make it up next time.

$1 tip isnt making us any money on a 1 mile trip we have to go back so thats 2 miles of driving how much in gas does it cost ?

Simple divide your CITY MPG into cost per 1 gal I get 13 mpg in city 1 gal regualr is now at $2.35 here

235 divided by 13 = 18.07 cents per mile NOW add maintain cost which includes everything from wiper blades light bulbs to fluids vacuming washing weekly that per mile cost is at least .50 per mile.

JUST today i have to replace both wiper blades and they cost $15 for the set.

Plus window cleaner a good heavy duty that dosent streak $3.50 for one bottle.

SO to those who dont tip tell ya what GET off your lazy ass and walk the 5 blocks to your local pizzeria or deli.

OOOOOyeah have your head on swivel watch out for thugs looking to take wahtever you have on you like that nice new phone you just bought for $375 YOUR jewlery that cost $1000's and every dollar you have in your pocket or purse
