One play tonight:
DETROIT/CLEVELAND OVER 189 (at Stardust)
This total means both teams need to produce ~95 for the game. I normally go UNDER in a situation like this where one weak home team faces a road team heavily dependent upon one shooter). Oddly enough, this is the lowest total on any DET/CLEVE game over the past two seasons. Totals between these two teams have ranged from 190 to 203 dating back to Nov. 2000. Four of the last five contests between these two teams went OVER the total. This number "189" is a mystery because CLEVE is actually scoring points this season (93 PPG, up from last season). DET has gone OVER in four games in a row and 8 of their last 10. CLEVE has gone OVER in 7 of their last 10. Neither team plays defense very well nor has a tough defensive minded center (injury-plagued center Zydrunas Ilgauskas is set to return for the Cavs tonight -- which I think will help DET get to 100 and Cliff Robinson has been scoring more points when Stackhouse was out). This is the kind of game where Jerry Stackhouse will try to pad his stats and the Cavs will get into the 90s. Pistons are the NBA's worst rebounding team, so that alone shuld keep the Cavs in the game and put them over their season average. I like the OVER here. NOTE: Total has risen to 190 at two offshores.
