On the course!
I guess some of you guys might be looking for something from me on this game, so I will offer what little I can.

I have touted the over 41' all week to friends, family, and countrymen. I still lean that way, but it is not a "bankroll" play like some people have today. It remains strong, though.

I see the Packers using the 'air attack' all day for a couple of key reasons:

  • The Lions secondary is a hurtin' unit.
  • The Packers backfield is going to take baby steps today, if they want to keep those boys healthy!

Green sat out the last 3 weeks of pre-season with a sore groin, and Levens still has a busted paw, even though he is playing today. I'm sure they will look just fine out there, but the coach won't want to get them beat up in week one.

Favre is going to love passing against a weak secondary! His big go-to guy, Freeman, hasn't seen action since getting his bell rung on MNF 3 weeks ago, but the whole Hee-Haw gang will catch balls today!
The other side of that coin has the Lions trying to pressure Favre into throwing early. This will prompt him to throwing some of his famous 'lollypops' up for grabs! We can only hope they land safely! The other bad thing about a hard pass rush, is that the offensive line gets flagged for holding. This haunts the Packers every year, and will happen today, too. But, that means more passing with needing to gain more yards! A sort of 'mixed blessing' if you will. Favre will get his 300+ yards and 2-3 td's today.

On the other side of the field, Batch is getting used to the West Coast Offense that Detroit has discovered. With the experienced secondary of Sharper and Butler, Batch could be in for a long day. Detroit's strength comes in their running game. The Pack has a good defensive line though, and the running yards may come tough.

The weather calls for 50% chance of showers in the afternoon in Green Bay. We shall see....I don't like to base plays off of the weather in the NFL too much.

The Lions have failed to win in Wisconsin in 10 years, today will be the same old story.

Detroit will score some points, but in the end, the Pack will prevail.

Wagers:

1 unit:

field goal missed? Yes +115

2 unit:

longest score--Td or fg? td -135

Green Bay -5

3 unit:

Det/GB over 41'

Get the money, guys!......Good luck!
