My son and a buddy are going to see the RHCP on Feb 2 at Joe Louis Arena.

Any suggestions on where they should stay? They would gladly Uber from anywhere reasonably close.

Not sure how old your son and his buddy are, if underage they can cross the border to Windsor, Ontario and go to casino/clubs/bars where the legal age is lower then in Michigan.

Just throwing that out there.

We call them the "mild chili peppers" in Canada, hence why I didn't know what "RHCP" meant.

Live in K town but have been to The Joe many times, I would tell him to stay in Greektown area. Casino it there and lots of good bars and restaurants on Monroe St.

Bunch of us going down the following Saturday to ACC standing in line to see the show.

They could stay near a casino if they want to party and gamble. If they just want a cheap place to stay nearby that isn't dangerous try Allen Park or Lincoln Park off I-75. I don't live up there anymore but that's my advice.

By the way, there used to be some cool bars near the JLA. Could make for a great night if you check them out before or after.
