Anyone from detroit here?? Doing a concert and need some input if possible. :)

Cobo Arena, Detroit, MI

Already purchased our tickets and most likely gonna fly in the day of the show ( Thursday AM ) and fly back early friday afternoon.. Anyone familiar with the cobo arena and are there any decent hotels close by ?? also looking for a limo 2.5 hours prior to the show>> from and back to our hotel.

Any Info is appreciated.

The south suburbs have little traffic to downtown, unlike the north side which has quite a bit of traffic issues. The higher end hotels are on the north side but you can find quality mid-range hotels to the south. The airport is also south of downtown. I went to Cobo a couple of weeks age to see a cirque du soleil (sp?) show. It's a good place for a concert and is located dircetly donwtown on the edge of the Detroit river. You can get a limo from Metrocars at (734) 946-5700. Ask for my friend Tommy Bridges and tell them his attorney sent you over. He'll take good care of you.

bring your passport and stay at casino windsor ! then your out of danger downtown and windsor has great strip clubs and your dollar goes far. just make sure you go to lafyette conie island for the best hot dog i ever had in the world. and for the best pizza ever buddies downtown all detroit legends.

These are all very good ideas......Buddies is my favorite pie........Windsor, good call.

Wow that sounds VERY APPETIZING but in no way can i stay there !! :nono: ( LOL ) The concert were seeing is slayer ( Thrash Metal ) and were only gonna be in detroit for a total of 26 hours.. if i book my room at a casino not only would i miss the show but i'll miss my flight as well.. :142smilie :scared i can do 26 hours in one sitting of blackjack. That's like bringing crack to the crackhead. :mj07:

Were probably gonna go pug's route here,, stay somewhere in between the airport & cobo.. get a limo, do the show and if were in any condition hit the tittie bars afterwards.

Just wanted to say it is great to see in a community like Madjacks that a guy can ask a question about a city and get better service than a travel agent could give. Kudos to you Detroiter's. :clap: I did a callout to guys here in Atlanta a couple weeks ago and got 2 responses to just try and meet up. :shrug: One was Scott-Atlanta making excuses, so that doesn't count. :mj07:
