Outright plays (total stake per play: 1.5pts)

Zach Johnson to win 40/1 e.w. @ Ladbrokes
He may have played poorly over the weekend, but his 2nd round 63 that included a double-bogey was enough evidence that he is capable of prolonging the form that had resulted in finishes of 2nd, 17th and 9th in his previous three tournaments. A repeat of last year's top-15 finish should be in order this week.

Justin Rose to finish in the top-five 8/1 @ Expekt [w/o Woods & Singh market]
Woods & Singh finished in the first two positions last year and with Woods having finished in the top-5 every time since missing the cut in the Byron Nelson Championship in May, it very hard to see Woods out of the top-5 and defending champion, Singh, should have a better than evens chance of continuing his record of finishing in the top-5 on this course every time. So that means with only three of five places likely to be available in the standard place-betting markets, this market is certainly of note. There is a very good chance that a top-7 finish will result in a payout, which is good news with Rose who still has difficulty closing out events. He showed that last week, but he doesn't need to do that in a place-only market. In good form and with a 3rd place finish in 2003 on this course, he should be able to attain a top-7 finish.

Ryan Palmer to finish in the top-five 10/1 @ Expekt [w/o Woods & Singh market]
Palmer held the first-round lead last year and though he slipped down the leaderboard after each round thereafter, it was his 3rd-best finish in 27 starts to date last year and was the springboard to a runners-up finish and then a win the following month. Finally, he is showing some of that form again with a 2nd place finish in the B.C. Open and, again a very much stronger field, a 3rd place finish in the NEC Invitational in his last start. With the knowledge that he can play well on this course - it does particularly suit long-hitters like Palmer and Rose - he should be confident of a similar strong showing this week.

OUTRIGHTS:

Justin Rose(66/1) e.w. @ GolfingGods

- - By my count, this is the first of eleven more sanctioned events on the PGA Tour.
Aye, Carumba!! I can honestly say that the WGC Championship at Harding Park is the only event on the list that stirs any anticipation with this diehard. I'll speculate with some small unposted plays (Thanks to All for sharing your pics), but will be scaling way back on posting of full unit plays while others are grinding to uncover the ongoing opportunities.

Greg Owen 100-1 e.w.
Richard S. Johnson 150-1 e.w.
--Johnson just got in the tourney today, so I hope he is in Massachusetts. I feel both guys should make a good run this week.

This is probably my last event since football has arrived and college basketball is right around the corner. I'll still peek at the lines every week though and maybe drop a play or two before the PGA season ends.

It's been fun sharing plays with everyone this year again. Good luck!

Been fooled big time by this event so far--figured with 4 days rain prior saturating fairways short hitters would struggle--leaderboard dominated by short hitters in all catagories.

Out of curiosity does anyone know if any changes were made to this course since last 2 years? Fortnately went easy on posting props this week but was drilled (4-7-1)on my fav (GIR) on non posted plays and still trying to figure how a course where 11.5 greens ave ranked 20th last year was abused so badly this year by a slightly weaker field--wasn't the weather which is case most times.

FINAL RESULT: 0-3; -4.50pts

Johnson mc
Rose 27th
Palmer mc

Two poor performances and a poor performance from Rose when it mattered. Within two shots of a top-5 place, he three-putted on the 15th hole in the last round and then hit his next tee-shot in the water to record a double-bogey. Very poor.
