Let me say upfront, I'm a real Cowboy hater, I root for any team over the Cowboys and I don't like Jones at all.
However, Jones has been great for Dallas. He was willing to spend, brought in a great coach, got a great QB, brilliantly traded an over-rated RB for that QB and a bunch of other picks (how did that work out for the Vikes??), and built a team that won 3 SB's in 4 years.
These are tremendous achievements.
The absurd way the salary cap works means that you can't go on doing this for very long, ask the 49ers.
As a result the Cowboys will have a few down years now. This is the face of modern sports. Baseball will fall into line after the strike that is coming at the end of this year.
I'm not saying this is right or good, and I certainly don't like Jones personally, but he has done a great job.
As awful as he is, at least he built his own fortune and didn't rely on a fortunate birthright. Hey, if he wants to spend some of his money on plastic surgery, so what??
