Question/advice sought-

I have 2 direct tv receivers. each one is hoooked up to its own tv. I just got a third tv that will be in another room.
I'd prefer not to have to buy a third receiver, as all 3 will never be in use at the same time.

Is there a way to hook into one of the other receivers? LIke splice into it or something?
My goal, the third tv is for the kids to watch cartoons... so if i spliced that tv into another room's reciever (my bedroom) can I keep my bedroom tv off, and then just put on the cartoon channel on the other tv?

Is it as simple as just puttin a splitter on a cable somewhere in the wall? or would i need to play with the cards and all that crap?

If you know how, or have done it, would love to hear from you. If its too long to type out, let me know and I will give you a call.

Go to Radio Shack and ask for a video and remote transmitter your kids will can change channels. Just remember to put the adult guard lock. It works at home

Marine.... you need to run the input from the dish directly into the receiver.... output that receiver to a 2 way splitter. then output the splitter to each TV.

then like jyapur said..... get one of the infared remote setups so they can change the channel from their room (also, they have to have a cable ready TV..... but pretty sure their aren't any other kinds around anymore....LOL)

I have an extra direct tv receiver I don't use. You can pick it up at my place in alexandria if you're in the area sometime soon. Shoot me an email and I will give you my address.
