So I am about to move out of a building that I was forced to use DirectTV, with that being said when I moved in 2 years ago I had to buy three new HDTV receivers ... I am moving to a new place and dont want to deal with DirectTV satellites and with just go with Verizon FIOS or something along those lines ... my question is, can I do anything with these receivers, is there any sort or market for them anywhere ?

any info would be appreciated, thanks

Where it is real F ing COLD
Probably not, most people are not forced to have this so you situation is unique because people who have the service pay a fee to insure the equipment. Plus your equipment is 2 years old and shelf life of these are about 3 years

Well it depends.
Are they DVR capable?

If so then yes you can get something decent on Ebay.
The person that buys one will have to contact Directv because the cards marry to the receiver so if they are using a receiver then that card will not work in your box until it gets unmarried.

Ebay.
Or Craigslist if you want to sell it local and probably quickly with no fees as well.
