In his five week report card, DJT 2.0 gets an A-
He’s done fantastic work jumping directly into the bulk of his campaign platform including removing wokeness from federal gov, slashing wasteful spending, reducing government payroll, securing the border, settling Russia Ukraine war, and deporting illegals.
He gets points off for some of his tariff rhetoric. Holding tariffs over our neighbors and allies is a bad idea. Imposing the 25% tariffs across the board on Canadian and Mexican goods doesn’t make any sense to me. I don’t like blanket tariffs at all, but especially with our nafta partners. . Targeted tariffs are fine, and in on board with reciprocal tariffs. I do hope he reconsiders his across-the-board tariffs on Canada and Mexico.
He gets points off for some sloppiness in the government reduction. Yes, it’s a wildly difficult undertaking. I’m not going to complain about them reducing the bureaucracy, but I’d rather move a little slower and be a little more precise. I’ll give an example. Department of education removed links for a couple of repayment programs for student loan debt. If he’s ending the programs and has the authority to do so, then great. All good. Those who were considering joining either of those those two repayment programs appear to be shit out of luck. No problem. But what about the people who are already enrolled
In those programs. They haven’t heard since Friday who’s in charge of the program now, or if they are still in the program, or the program was rolled into a different program. If so, who administrating that? Is there a website or a phone number? To me, this is sloppy and I want to see a lot less of this.
I don’t like his Russia/Ukraine comments the other day. I understand it’s his method of negotiating this deal, but I don’t like blaming Ukraine for a Russian invasion.
Gaza occupation talk is mind numbing stupidity.
