I read an article on ESPN.com about an interview that Boomer Esiason conducted on his show, on MSG, with Andy Rooney, from 60 Minutes. He basically said that he does'nt think women should be involved in any reporting of football games.

He said," The only thing that bugs me about TV coverage is those damn women they have down on the sidelines who don't know what the hell they are talking about. I mean, I'm not a sexist person, but a woman has no business being down there trying to make some comment about a football game".

This obviously brought out cries from many people. You will have to go to the ESPN site to read what other people said about Rooney's comment.

My interpretation of Rooney's comment was that he felt that since women do not play any football on any level, they cannot relate to what is going on during the game. I think that is baloney. All I know, is that Melissa Stark is a better sideline reporter than Eric Dickerson was. Eric was incoherent & hard to understand, while Melissa always got her point accross in understandable english. She also is a lot nicer on the eyes than Dickerson.

I have never taken Andy Rooney serious on any subject, so I'm not going to take him serious on this.

Any other thoughts?

Roony is like 80 years old and from a differant generation. I think we should just let it go. He says alot of stuff no one listens to.

At Augusta National the on going debate over allowing a woman in to the club. I think they should let Anna Kournikova in as a member and all the old guys could look at her ass all day.

She would meet all my requirements. Is that sexist ?

i agree Eric Dickerson and Marcus Allen add very little to the game and have had no substantial insight.

Have you ever watched Suzie Kolber on Edge NFL Matchup?

She is more knowledgable than half the idiots they trot onto the Sportscenter set. I will take her over Stewart Scott any day.

/rant on

Why do ALL the Sportscenter anchors now have to talk like Stewart Scott? ALL OF THEM. I feel like I have to dumb myself down now to watch this show, its not about good highlights anymore, its about how many stupid sayings you can come up with. When Chris Van Pelt, the whitest white guy on the show, who normally does FREAKING GOLLLLF coverage is YELLING at me "THATS LEVITATION HOLMES!!!!! HOLMES THATS SOME LEV-I-TA-TION!!!!" I dont need it.

Depends

Depends

If they are there because they are pretty then no (unless they are really pretty, hehe). If they are there because they love the game and know what they are talking about then yes.

Sidekine reporters are all stupid. Man or woman. They ask those stupid questions at half time and get the same pat answer from every coach. We have to execute, establish the run, play better defense, make adjustments, blah, blah, blah.

i wonder when the day will come when the womens groups will start protesting this issue.....when will we have a head coach? when will we have GM's? when will we have 50% head coaches? etc. etc.......

maybe the feminazis just haven't thought of the issue yet.....hopefully they don't read madjacks or it might be on the news tomorrow.....lol

I think a woman is just as capable as a man in asking silly cliched questions over and over again as a male is. Plus is better to look at unless you are a errr well uh nevermind. As for Suzy, I totally respect her as I do Andrea Kramer who is a great interviewer and is deserving of work beyond just ESPN and sports. Plus Michelle Tafoya more than holds her own on SR2.
