I'd love to know if ANYBODY here actually pays for another persons plays???
You give them your money ,but you won't be getting anything back from the "Touts" if you ,and most peoplle do, go belly up. Sooner or later, you won't want to give someone $200 a month, and you will simply come back to sites like this and just get some info and do your OWN handicapping.
There are a few good services out there, but if I was going to buy a "tout" , I would make sure the plays are registered with a sports monitor service. And yes, YEARS AGO , I paid for a service. I went up and down, then finally out,as in OUT OF ACTION (money).
I have bought many books and kept reading about things that helped me. GOT to learn about money management first ,if you can't do that ,your a loser before you start.
So, are or do ANY of you guys plan to PAY a "tout" for their CHALK plays. I say this ,as most services give chalk plays. If anybody says this is wrong, your right, about 2% of services are 'dog' players, but that is about it...Some of these 'chalkers' are going to KILL you REAL FREEKIN FAST,as you lay the 3 to 1 in bases, you will lose a couple of games, then start chasing the lost money, and we all know what happens. Too many guys get beat up BAD and they have to borrow the $$$$ to pay the 'book',but the "Tout ' still has your $200 . I'd LOVE to see these "businessmen" send you a refund,as you were not satisfied with the product. This would be what any business does that is HONORABLE and stand behind their product. If you bought a nice leather coat for $400 and changed your mind ,YES , any real store would give you your $$$ back, NO QUESTION !!!!
Do you pay????
I doubt it????
Anybody going to pay????
If you do ,good luck...... I think you should keep your OWN money, do your own work, and HAVE FUN, because 12 years of 'booking' taught me that the 'book' WILL win over the long run,but I did meet the very rare 1 / 10 th of 1 % that CAN win year over year. The rest of the time, the 'book' WILL get your $$$ sooner or later. If there are 10 people on this site that can HONESTLY tell me they are UP $$$ for the last 5 years, i'd love to know. I know I was a winner for 12 straight years , and I did'nt have to make a single bet.. Then I retired a year ago...Too much shit going on now, the "business has changed alot".....
O.K. now ,anybody going to throw their $$$$ to the "TOUTS"??
It is certainly YOUR option, good luck ALL........Spanky.......

Sorry, I forgot one thing...
I see a few of the boys are "TOUTING"at a new service and they are getting a fair number of good luck wishes. The one thing I did notice --- Lots of 'good luck' and 'thanks'. BUT I did'nt see ANYBODY say they were going to sign up for the service,I wonder why that is ?????
If these guys are such "solids", why are you guys not lined up to had over your CASH ?????
Not busting balls. just can't figure out why all the kind words, but NO NEW customers ????
Save your money,do your own reading and read others FREE thoughts.. If you want to GIVE the "TOUTS" $2,400 a year (at least),think twice...
Dam, Beantown Jim could turn that $2,400 into 2.4 MILLION !!!!
Spanky.............(stands for SOONERS ) and that is FREE !!

I agree with you spanky and I made that exact same comment in the "Raymond and fletch go pay" thread.
I think it says a lot about the astuteness of most MJ members.

I have used one tout in my life and have good profits with him, even though his record is below what he claims he is capable of. He specializes in NBA and his record over 2 years is 101-86.

The reason you haven't seen people ask where to sign up is because the email address for customer service is easy to find. That doesn't strike me a very insightful observation.

It really seems some people are finding any excuse to critisize this decision. I really don't understand why they aren't treating this startup company with the same standards as any other startup.

Czech, I meant I did not see ONE PERSON who said they WERE going to sign up.
If I was going to go with the guys I would say so loud and clear, and probably try to get others to give it a try. I thought I made it pretty straight forward as to exactly what I was saying. AND I was not 'dumping on 'the guys' by any means. As you see in my thoughts on your thread, most touts ARE crooks, bottom line. I still don't get it, if I was going to sign up, I WOULD say so !!! That's all I meant. I know where to find them as I sponser TWO of Jack's sites already.Thanks.:) :) Spanky....

Spanky you were just kidding when you asked. Does anyone here pay for another persons plays. Of course they have. And that is why you here many get mad and say things they say. Because many have had real bad luck or just never got what they hoped for. In fact some so called service buy other services plays. Then turn around and sell the picks as there own. All kinds of chit goes on in this business. There's no one checking it out. Who you going to call if you think you got the shaft. Your local Police the FBI. Chit they will laugh. Then take care of you first when you pay your fine. Are there real good folks with very good attentions in this business. Yes. Just remember when buying aservice. You must first make enough to pay for the service. That up's the winning percentage you must get from your service. Is it a bad thing. Not at all if you can stay the long haul. And you trust the firm. Some times it takes a year to make money. Must be ready to take some hard shots at the bank role. That is why service are for the few not the majority. There are many services out there waiting for our dollars. Someone once said there is one born everyday. ;)

So Cal
Since no one else will admit it, evidently, I will say that about 8 years ago I used Ken Angland of K& B Sports for about 2 years. I consider myself a fair sports handicapper and a pretty good horse handicapper. But I just worked too many hours to cap efficiently. I only paid him a percentage of profits. Had a great roll in pro football both seasons and actually busted my book one summer in baseball. Can't complain about the guys honesty; wasn't a chaser, etc. Gave up after just being tired of playing every day in NBA and never went back. Paying off on a percentage of profits isn't a bad way to go as long as you don't have a guy that will chase at the end of the month in an effort to pull out a profit.

Ferdville been there done that and you are 100% correct. The chaser or the next one has to be right can kill you. Problem is. I have seen some very good cappers go 0 for 12, as easy as they did 12 & 0. Nothing is forever BUT!

when i get the tips from the runners thats between 50-100 a pop so i pay also, hey i know they are strong and who they work for so i have no trouble with paying them, not quite a tout and i don't think i am either more like a runner for the runners and a handicapper. not a pusher either have a need for me or not,but willnot do the flyer and radio stuff have a site and if people go fine ifnot fine,i still have to work either way, touts advertise and don't do their own work they work on marketing and have phone banks or the big ones and sell phone nubers and burns.i handicapp buy from runners and play what i post and give out.

spanky2,

I think I came off sounding a bit more arrogant than I intended when I said your comment wasn't insightful, so sorry about that. But I still don't agree that you can judge how well RAYMOND/fletcher's service is selling by how many clients of theirs have told this forum about their purchase. I think this is probably for 1 of 2 main reasons:

1. They don't feel a public forum is an appropriate place to discuss their personal investments, or

2. They are embarrassed at the image it might give them.

Of course I can't prove this, it's just my personal guess/opinion.

Czech, Ya you could be Right... As I said at the start I paid for a service eons ago (Jeff Allen).Yes I lost some $$$$,but i did learn something, and THAT was worth what I lost...:D I would never spend a whole year with a tout, shit ,when they go 0-5 ,they come with the old Double Up System (chase). BULLSHIT is more like it.
What I think 95% of us feel is the same, just do some work YOURSELF.Nothing is free, and if it is ,well you know what will happen:moon: :moon: :moon: Good luck all. Got Sooners at -6 and saw they are now -7 1/2, I have them flat and in a 'live 2 Teamer ,so maybe if I see an 8 ,might do a little fooling around.
Spanky.....:)
