Does anyone else think we are seeing the decline of a once great shooter?

Preston Shumpert looks awful. This is the type of thing that can ruin a players career. Not only does his shooting look off, but his confidence as well. Hope Theus and the rest can pull this game threw. It's a damn shame cause he was one of the best pure shooting big men.

I've never seen him play a great game, can you say overrated, maybe all the talk went to his head, and he thought he was ready for the NBA.

I believe presn eye injury is worse then is being repprted. I think you will see him having surgery on iy at after season. Probably one of those tears where he will not do further damage by playing bt it would get better until repaired.

I am a very close follower of Syracuse and I will say this. Somthing is seriously wrong with Shumpert. At the begining of the year, he couldn't miss, now he can't buy a shot. I believe that as previously posted the eye injury is much more serious than being reported. Additionally, based upon a difficultly with depth perception, he has lost his touch. The question is, will he find it by the time the tourney starts??? Don't write off Syracuse, they can always find ways to win.

I'll go with overrated

I'll go with overrated

I will admit that I have not seen all that many of 'Cuse's games this year and last but it seemed like everytime I did Shumpert seemd to be having a sub-par performance in a big game.

If his eye is really bothering him, then he needs to stop shooting 16-20 times a game and find a way to get his teammates involved, that's what good players do. On the other hand he could end up like some other players, like Cory Bradford, who just can't seem to get it together even after the effects of the injury are gone. Time will tell. But I'm not optimistic.

And that's just one man's opinion. . .

Problem is That SU has no other shooters. Williams is so wildly inconsistent, Duany has trouble creating his own shot and has limited range, and bench has NOBODY who can shoot. Forth and Theus were forced to pick up the slack on Sunday and both played well but I can't see them being relied on at this point in their career ( both freshman).

SU is a one and done in BE tourney and NCAA, if they get there, which I seriously doubt.
