For those who have a love for numbers, Ark-St, since 97, is 6-n-3 as a 30+ point dog, 4-n-2 as a 30+ point road dog.

Opnions on this game?

I liked them at 27, but the line move scares me. VaTech has alot of problems this year and have a tough schedule after this game. Does anyone have anything on Arkansas State?

Ark-St is one of several teams I "peep" throughout the year.

The team averaged 16 points per game in 01 and thats with Adams and Powell. Both are gone.

The problem is the qb position. Jacobs and Driscoll suck and from what I understand the Mckinney kid might even take a few snaps. I am trying to gather info on the kid.

The offensive and defensive line for ther Indians are best in the Sun Belt conference. Both lines are very experianced and stacked. The lb position is led by Echols and Everett, and the db position has questions.

Ark-St's offense will be toilet hunting again. Its a shame because that offensive line is well rounded with the likes of Johnson, Crosley, and Gibbs. The line is HUGE! With Adams gone, the rb position is a cause of concern for 1st year coach Roberts. If Stegall and Hickenbotham stay at wr, the Indians will be able to move the ball down field provided someone emerges from the qb battle!

I dont follwo Virg-Tech and info would be much appreciated.

It's not really a line move. The lower number was just an outlaw line. When the "offical" number came out from the 'Dust, with the input of LVSC, the outlaw line was adjusted. That's all.

MW-

Word is Miller will get the nod at qb. I dont recall seeing him play, even on tape. I dont know his style.

Another area of concern for coach Roberts was p-a-t's and field goal kicking. Neilhouse has been kicking monster shots during practice. Obtaining film during this time is impossible!

Several things:

1. How both lines are performing?
2. Who is pegged to start at the rb position?
3. Is Roberts going to keep Stegall and Hickenbotham at wr?

I like Ark State +38 here. Somewhere in my notes I have a record of overall teams ATS when the line is over 35, its is fairly good.

Ark. State is not good, dont get me wrong. V.Tech will counter the game with Jones and Suggs at RB. Make no mistake that is one of the best 1-2 combinations in the country right now. I dont see a way Ark.State can stop them.

VT has only 5 defensive starters returning, and AS has 8 offensive starters returning. I like that combination right there. VT is also 1-3 last 4 ATS when favored by 30 or more. If VT gets out to an early lead, say 20-30 points, I would think they would rest their starters. Big home game week after against LSU and there will be no need to run up the score in week one.

38 is a big number here. My play is on Ark. State +38

I think there might be alot of value in lines over 21 points this year due to the removal of margin of victory from the BCS calculations. That being said I don't think Arkansas state returning 16 starters makes much of a difference. First year coach going into Blacksburg? Same guys that got beat 45-0 by north Texas. Will Beamer have mercy? Seeing how Beamer ran the score up in 95,96,97 when he could before the BCS system was implemented I doubt it.
