by my count so far 8 of the first 13 underdogs have won their bowl games outrite. I think this trend usually ends on new years day games.

Today the Dogs are barking as 3 have already won and NorthernIll looking to even everything up at 8-8.
I believe that last year the exact opposite of this well know trend occurred as more favorites covered before New Years and more dogs barked after the Times Square Ball dropped.

You will note in thread that dogs generally do not preform as well in games played in bowls in Jan.
I believe dogs are 7-9 so far with huge ML scores on Wyoming and TT.
--and as noted in thread-- on just pick the winner-- the line has yet to be a factor in any game making taking the points vs ML less attractive in my view.

N.Ill wins making 9 underdog outrite winners in the first 16 bowll games. So far the spread has not come into play in any bowl game, as the winner also covered in all cases.
