There have been differing opinons on this game from what I have seen. Nolan wrote an interesting piece on his page today about teams on two days rest having success over the last couple of preseasons. Hoops, who is a sharp NFL handicapper, has a strong play tonight on the Saints based largely on the idea that the Dolphins are vulnerable with little rest.

I am inclined to side with those betting the Saints in this situation. Haslett has said he will play starters for the bulk of the first half while Wannstedt is looking to play starters for only the first quarter. Several New Orleans players were also quoted in the Times-Picayune talking about wanting to get the victory. There is also the added incentive of spoiling Ricky Williams' home debut.

Based on pure talent, it is tough to justify betting New Orleans at Miami getting only 1 1/2 points. This is a unique scenario, though, so I think that a play on the Saints is the right way to go. GL tonight.
