At Carib, they have Oklahoma at 50:1 to win it all. Compare that to the 4 teams ahead of them:
Duke 2/1
MD 8/1
KAN 15/1
CIN 12/1
and I think you have a decent bet here.
They should be favored in any sweet 16 matchup if you want to start hedging it early. You should still collect by smartly fading their opponents in Great 8 through the Finals. OU might well be favored in the G8 (or the F4 in a best case, but not completely far-fetched scenario)
This is a team that beat MD handily at home, stayed with KU on the road (7 pt. loss), and recently beat Missouri big. Its not like they haven't played anybody. They have Ok St. on the 30th. They've crushed their weaker opponents.
Drawbacks: Even though BIG XII has a lot of ranked teams, do people think they're weak? OU lacks size. Their center is only 6'9" if I'm not mistaken. They lost to Mich St. away but that was when MSU still had some respectability, and then only by 2.
I don't think they can win it all, but its still possible they get a 1 or 2 seed so there's a lot you can do with a 50:1 shot with fading them if they get deep.
If they drop to a 4 or 3 seed, you might be in trouble having to fade in the sweet 16 (or even 32 if they play a tough 5 or 6 as the case may be).
Any thoughts on this play? What's the downside? You tell me because I can't find it.
