i remember some time ago there was a poster who used to have some #'s/angles on Double Digit rushing dogs in Bowl games.

Recall it was something like take a tem that outrushes their opponents in total yards/gm if they are a dog of 10 or more points...

Anyone remember this one? Please advise if you have more detailed information.

Thanks

Using that criteria, Tulsa would fit. They average 219 yards rushing to Hawaii's 109 ypg. Tulsa catching 12 pts. However, this could be a misleading stat with Hawaii because they don't TRY to rush the ball.
That was the only one I saw of the games thru 12/30.

im not saying its an angle, but if it is indeed a good one, then the qualifiers are:

Tulsa, Uconn and maybe northwestern if they move to 10.

Logicalyl makes sense no some levels basis controlling line of scrimmage and getting huge amounts of points, plus killing clock etc.

I seem to remeber there was a poster who had very specific information about this trend, and am trying to find out who, or if anyone remembered.

it is an angle that works all season not just during bowls. I dont have the numbers but double rushing double digit dogs are a good percentage play.

Yes...I recall this trend. I believe it was a DD dog who won both offensive and defensive rushing stats. Very strong trend for college football anytime....regular season or bowls.

Tulsa does fit the trend on both sides of the ball......221/117 offensive and 126/129 defensive. That's a solid play catching DD's!!! Line opened at 12 and already down to 10.5. Tulsa is the right side here!

I'll research the rest of the games and post them here if any apply......

CONNECTICUT also fits trend.......180/145 offensive and 146/152 defensive. They are catching 17!!!

The other DD dog was UTEP....not sure what the stats were in that game, but I wouldn't think they'd qualify against BYU.

So.....the two DD rush plays are TULSA and CONNECTICUT!! Those are the only two that qualify. I will be putting 3 units on each.

Thanks for reminding me of this trend......totally forgot about it. :0074

whats the % of this angle hitting?

I don't have an exact %, but I know it was in the 60-70% range throughout a season last time I used it. It doesn't come up too often. There are always at least 1-2 plays during the bowls every year and I recall them winning at a high rate. It's definitely worth putting some coin on.

Not sure why I forgot about this trend........

I thought it was DD Dogs that just outrush their opp.

That's not the way I did it....just doing it that way had less success from what I remember. The one's that had both offensive AND defensive angles were much stronger plays. It makes more sense.....we all know rushing and stopping the rush are key ingredients to success in football. If you have a DD dog with both those angles...that's pretty solid!!!

It was teams that outrush thier opponents by double in that particular game. Hard to predict but do cover at a high percentage.
