I’m still down a few hundred thousand. Forgive me for not celebrating.

Join the club. Stocks go up and stocks go down. That’s what the stock market does. But in the long run it goes up and me and you make money. If it went up every day nobody would have to work and we would all be retired at 30 yrs old.

Where was all this calm demeanor from you guys while Biden ran the show?

I mean, shit! If it all comes out in the wash, why were you guys so upset the last four years?

How long have you been investing? you understand that 24% annual return in the S&P 500 is not feasible? Every single person our age ( about 51) in this forum that is crying like a little bitch, made tens of thousands of dollars in the 2008 dip, and then hundreds of thousands in the 2020 dip. Go ahead and tell me I’m wrong

You definitely have me confused with someone else. I bitch about and praise members of both sides of the aisle based on what they’re doing at the time. I think the politically inept hyper partisan masses, like you and your homies, are an incredible problem in this country.

Republicans who think Democrats are wrong on everything are just as much of a problem as Democrats who think Republicans are wrong about everything. You’ll never catch me either group.

Could Trump have handled this rollout better and markets wouldn’t have been so reactive the last couple of days? Damn straight. But in the end, that is secondary to swinging better trade deals not only with tariffs, but also trade policy and practices. The people voted for something different. Crying right now is like Florida giving up when they were down 10 last night early.

Not to mention, we were definitely overvalued. Now down in 18-19 P/E ratio territory. Were sitting at 22+ a month ago.

Will know more soon enough. And let’s not forget, we make the most money off of “collapses”. Nothing more fun than the ride up.

I want 8% a year (so you're wrong on my expectations). In my decades of investing, I can't recall another market that was tanked on the incompetent action of one person.

For your info, I didn't make tens of thousands on the 2008 crash. I got crushed. The only cash I had was invested in a rental property purchase in 2007, and it nearly put me into bankruptcy. So, you're wrong. I didn't make make hundreds of thousands of the 2020 dip. You have to have additional liquid funds to invest AFTER the crash/dip. So, wrong again. You clearly don't understand investing and personal finance.

Looks like you guys might have a good shot at bragging eight years from now about how low the price of gas got during Trump's term.

Where are all the weaklings hiding? l

I’m sure you “guys” will find something else to bitch about tomorrow. 😂
so let's look at the title of your thread and your gloating in this comment last night. you were, obviously, expecting a big day today and thought that one day somehow proved that you were right. which, of course, is really stupid. but, hey, you were confident enough that you thought you were rubbing our noses in it.

so when the great start to the day turned to complete shit, yyz had some fun with your ignorant confidence (hmmm... maybe you should run for president. ignorant confidence seems to be a great selling point for republican voters these days.)
You sound so fucking stupid. It’s hysterical.😂
and this was what you came up with for a reply.

so let's recap.

1) you got cocky.

2) you were wrong.

3) yyz had some fun at your expense.

4) your clever response was "you sound so fucking stupid."

yeah, one of you sounds stupid in this thread. it ain't yyz.

look, we all know the market will eventually bounce back. could be tomorrow. could be in 3 months. could be 18 months. given the chaos this dipshit is causing globally right now, seems a lot more likely that it ain't going to be any time soon. my guess is that buying stocks right now is like catching the proverbial knife. personally, i may grab a little of my favorite dividend payer, since the recent drop has brought the yield back up to 5%. other than that, i'm in no rush to commit the dry powder i've been holding. there is no reason to think the near future is going to be anything other than a bumpy ride with an overall downward trajectory.

Gary while I trust you, this leans a little bit on unverified facts...like yyz who claims of when he sold stocks, which's holds no merit and we all know
is bullshit. I am firm believer in ... Trust but verify!!!

Can you, verify lost a few 100 of thousand.... or is this just liberal talking points propaganda or can you verify ????

I’m counting me and my wife’s together. We’re both directors with no kids. I’ve posted enough personal finance info in Movers and Shakers to demonstrate how I am doing.
