What a feeding frenzy we have witnessed the last couple days. Amazing!!!

Turn to comedy central, MTV, or listen to any number of radio stations and one will come away far more offended.

Listen to Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson, and one will come away far more offended.

After all, these pukes wanted to throw innocent lacrosse players in jail and helped contribute towards their character assassination.

Time to boycott CBS, MSNBC, and the rest of these moonbats.

If we are so weak that we cannot brush off an ignorant insult without callling for their job, we are in a more pathetic state than I ever thought.

KENS 5 Eyewitness News

Thanks in part to the 2003 tort reform that made Texas a more attractive place to do business, a record number of doctors want to set up practices in state. Now the board that licenses physicians is finding it can not process the applications quickly enough.

At least 2,500 doctors are waiting for licenses to practice in Texas, but a growing backlog means the process could take months.

Physician license fees bring in $55 million every two year for Texas, but only about $15 million goes to the Texas Medical Board. The rest goes into the general fun
.........................................................

This is just in Texas ?

Or all the US ?

Scott i know in Pa my former Senator Rick Santorum the rubber stamp for short, was big in reducing these suits for people. After his wife received a multi million dollar medical suit he felt a need to stop this kind of riffraff.
Go find a good doctor and most likely you will never have to worry about suing one. Now if you get someone like Freeze 200 thou wont be nearly enough to clean up the damage he most likely will create. If this law ever passed and you went to Freeze, I highly recommend you go to DTB and get a little more insurance for yourself just in case. This is another wonderful neocon platform to divert attention from the real thieves which would be the insurance industry, the neocons second favorite campaign donor. I don't even know one person in my lifetime that sued a doctor. Im sure people do but i don't.

I once went to a wedding in Pittsburgh and while everyone drove i said the heck with it i will fly. I had my own place so i went out to this nice club and everyone i met was great. I live about 20 minutes north of Philly. Big hike from you.

Spongy,

I'm 11 miles east of Pittsburgh. Haven't been in your neck of woods in a long, long time. Here's a link to the Pittsburgh Post Gazette:

I glance through it every morning. I read the "neighborhoods" section and enjoy some of the columnists, especially Reg Henry.

Santorum fundraising brings fine for Highmark
Friday, April 13, 2007

The Associated Press

WASHINGTON -- Highmark Inc. agreed to pay a fine of more than $54,000 for using corporate dollars on fundraising events connected to former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum.

In announcing the penalty yesterday, the Federal Election Commission also said it assessed a $20,000 fine against a former Highmark vice president and a $7,500 fine against Mr. Santorum's political action committee, America's Foundation. The donations went toward three golf tournaments at the Country Club of Hershey and a private fundraiser, the FEC said.

The Pittsburgh-based health insurer voluntarily made the FEC aware of the apparent violations after an internal audit, the commission said. "We believe that Highmark's response to this matter demonstrates the value of its integrity program in facilitating the investigation, reporting to proper authorities and implementing remedial actions," said company spokesman John McDermott.

Mr. Santorum, a two-term Republican, lost his re-election bid in November to Democrat Bob Casey.

Spongy,

I see what you mean about Santorum and Highmark.

On the local level, the hot news story is the 17 count corruption charge (kickback scheme) against Pittsburgh councilwoman Tawanda Carlisle.

All politicians stuff their pockets one way or another, but she was caught doling out cash to her friends for meaningless reports then accepting kickbacks for the favor. Pittsburgh council was in hot water for financial mismanagement before this became news, so this could get interesting.

She's black, represents the most impoverished district in the city and most blacks are angry about what she did.

However, her mother made reference to the Imus comment and suggested the charges against her daughter were sexist and reflected an assault on all black women.

Oh man, I love Pittsburgh!

Buddy they are everywhere. Just read about a Democrat from Tenn who also has gotten caught with his hands in the cookie jar. Some of these politicians who never had any real money seem to be the easiest to catch.
