Dr. Car help

I am about to buy a 1992 BMW 318i, loaded except sun roof was in to see my mechanic he put her up on the ramp and tells me there is alot of oil on the engin also a wheel bearing needs to be replaced and a front brake job. Can probably get the car for 6500 canadian. The car has 250,000K Anyone know the cost to get these repairs done and if this is a wise spend. It is a sweet drive and can fu.. move.

for a car with 250,000 km on it, even a BMW $6500 is tooooo much. Going by the BLACK book, unless he has a major stereo or some serious rims/tire package, that car should only be worth $3500.

Is it in mint condition? does it have any extra modifications or exterior modifications such as rims, lowering kit? etc etc?

no extras Dr. right out of the box. Looked at autotrader.ca and it seemed to be in the right price range. Some small rust spots by the windows not through the paint. Sounds like I should pass or talk the price down. Have been looking for a older RX7 but not many to be found up east at a good price, would even like an older Porsche hard to find at a good price. Any input would be appreciated.

If the engine has oil all over it then one of the main/crank seals is probably shot. The engine will have to be pulled to fix that in most cases. Just not worth it IMO.
