UFC on Versus and DREAM on HDNET
the solar system is finally re-aligned
:00hour :00hour :00hour :00hour

I give Bibiano a good shot, but most of the support, from what I've been reading, is with Hellboy

Yep....everybody and their dog is on "Hellboy". I myself think "Hellboy" is big time over-rated, but him dropping down in weight is a question. Of course this is Japan so both guys could weigh 200 pounds and nothing would be done about it:142smilie

Looking forwad to a long night of fights from UFC to Dream.
Wonderful night.

Somebody might need to talk me off the ledge of betting Ryo.

I know Ryo is nothing to brag about and I always look at the loss to Baroni as a good reason not to bet him, but Nakahara is 2-1 and beat 2 serious bums.

Anyone think Dida has a shot?

KJ been on the shelf for a while - at least he has given up the boxing for now

I still remember Crazy Horse knocking the shit out of Noons

the guy did make diaz look bad standing....and didi has a ? chin(.i used noons in a par,so i`m rationalizing here:D) ....but at almost 2-1,i wouldn`t blame you for taking a shot...didi is 3" taller...

nakahara comes from a pure karate background and yet was able to beat a pretty good judoka in dong in only his 2nd fight and he gave sakuraba a lot of problems in only his 1st fight.

i think he'll be able to fend off any subs ryo has and he'll prove difficult to hold down in the event he's taken down.

for a guy that only recently has started training mma, nakahara has taken to it very well.

Well , he has bunch of people who do BJJ being brazilian-japanese just like Machida . He had very solid sprawl , both Dong and Oyama aren't the best out there but they have good ground game and both struggled to take him down , even in the clinch a judo guy like Dong couldn't trip him down and when he got him there he wasn't able to keep him down and Andrews escaped the pattented Dongbar without any trouble . Also Oyama rolled for a kneebar on him kind of what Chonan did to Anderson Silva and Andrews quickly stepped out and in to blast him away before he got a chance to get up.
Chonan has clearly better striking than both Dong and Oyama BUT it's not in his best interests to try it with a guy like Andrews who is one of the best strikers in Japan atm , his lowkicks are very heavy , awesome highkicks arsenal and solid hands as well plus he is much taller than Chonan and has long ass legs and arms , also a naturally guy I believe .
The only question here is if Chonan's wrestling is good enough to pin this guy down , I am not so sure . Sakuraba got him in his first fight but Andrews was winning the close fight and lasted over 8 mins in the MMA debut against the most experienced japanese MMA fighter with very good wrestling and submissions arsenal .
I have a feeling Andrews might have problems defending lets say a rear naked choke but not so much with armbars or anything else .

Fight starts at 1:47

He hasn't fought in a year but I've read he got a belt in BJJ now and has been focusing on improving his overall ground game .

indeed, i didn't mean to imply that he hasn't started to become more well rounded, but rather that even in the beginning, when he was inexperienced, he showed that he should be able to transition to mma quite well.

Yoshiro Maeda
Kj Noons
Andrews Nakahara

For me

Bibiano Fernandes vs Hansen looks similar to Aoki vs Shaolin in the way that one has been very active and staying sharp and the other one has had just 1 fight in 20 monthes . Hansen is no joke but can he avoid the ground game , as good as he is there Bibiano is just better and wouldn't get subbed while controlling Hansen. Hansen also got subbed by Aoki twice and Shaolin once , they are both great but Bibiano is a serious guy on the ground as well . Bibiano has good beard and he can wait a bit and look for the opportunity to get Hansen down . At + 120 maybe worth a small bet in a fight which seems like 50/50 and maybe slight edge to Bibiano with Hansen cutting weight for the first time in his career and not being active in the last 2 years .
