Round 1 play (4pts):

Stephen Gallacher to beat Edoardo Molinari -110 @ 5Dimes
Pretty straightforward play. Gallacher is in good form, having finished in the top-30 in each the last three weeks and finishing ahead of Molinari in both of his starts in 2014. He also has a very impressive record around the Emirates course, having finished 10th, 2nd and 1st in the last three years here; Molinari has finished mc, 24th and mc in the last three years. In fact, the only worry is that he is in the same grouping as Rory and Tiger, but he appears to have the right temperament to deal with the circus around him tomorrow.

[unofficial rd1 system plays: Fisher tb Uihlein -111; Hanson tb Dubuisson -111; Couples tb Van Der Walt -120; Jaidee tb Jimenez -105]

Round 3 play (4pts):

Rafa Cabrera-Bello to beat Eduardo De La Riva -163 @ Stan James [available generally]
These two are poles apart in terms of form: Cabrera-Bello has finished 3rd and 4th in the last two weeks, De La Riva has finished 56th and mc. And whereas De La Riva missed the cut in his previous start in this event, Cabrera-Bello has finished in the top-20 in each of the last three years, including a win two years ago. Still playing well - he ranks 3rd in greens in regulation so far this week - Cabrera-Bello should continue his impressive form over the weekend and justify these odds.

[unofficial rd3 system plays: Molinari F tb Gallacher +100; Noh tb Lima -138; Quesne tb Walters -125; Bourdy tb Van Zyl -110]

Round 4 play (4pts):

Jamie Donaldson to beat Stephen Gallacher -110 @ Stan James
Gallacher had a three-shot lead last year and held on for a three-shot victory, but behind the numbers it was far from a comfortable win. He three-putted the first and bogeyed the second hole to fall back into a share of the lead with Richard Sterne and it was not until he holed from the rough on the 16th for an eagle that he held a decisive lead in the event again. He does have that victory for confidence ahead of tomorrow, but it will be very different to in the final grouping with Rory McIlroy rather than Sterne. And he has never held the third round apart from last year's event. With the Scot shooting the low round of the day, he is standard go-against so I'll back the World #25 who starts the day seven shots behind the leader.
