Michael Campbell has withdrawn from this week?s Dubai Desert Classic and returned home to allow his injured shoulder to properly heal.

Campbell informed European Tour officials of his decision on Monday and left Dubai Tuesday morning local time.

There goes the hat trick..

Damien McGrane -125 over Chris Wood (72 holes)

Think thats it for this tour since the books didn't offer lines on Coceres or Compton. Ollie is back this week, but I didnt like the matchup. Was hoping for Els vs Stenson..

Jyoti Randhawa (Tourn) -130 vs Colin Montgomerie (Tourn)

I don't think Monty's head is focused on his own game right now. I expect another missed cut by him, especially with the all of the media attention and questions on the Ryder Cup.

Round 1 plays (1pt):

Thomas Levet to beat Oliver Fisher -118 @ Unibet
Opposing Fisher who has failed to show any real form over the last six months apart from a few rounds in the Hong Kong Open and is making his course debut this week. He should struggle to beat Levet who was a top-10 finisher here last year and continues to make cuts (eight in a row) and shoot 71 or better in the first round (seven in a row)

Paul Broadhurst to beat Oliver Fisher -105 @ Five Dimes
Broadhurst had shown very little form, missing the cut in his last four events, but he was in contention throughout last week when eventually finishing 12th. With a course record that reads every cut made in the last seven years and top-25 finishes in each of the last three, he should be able to retain last week's form at this venue.

Outrights:

Jeev Milkha Singh(45/1) e.w.
- - Has been high on my short list now for all 3 events on the Desert Swing, and I managed to keep my powder dry until this week. I was a bit surprised but not put off by his featuring in some of the media coverage this week, but he's been candid for some while about looking to take it to another level

Darren Clarke(80/1) e.w.
- - His class and work ethic and my faith were rewarded last year; those are the same traits that say 2008 was a start and not a destination when the 2009 season heats up. Some others have pointed out that the putting surfaces and targets at Dubai could suit down to the soles of his feet; I'm not real sold on what to make of his pairing with Westwood and Karlsson.

Simon Dyson(66/1) e.w.
- - My hunch for the week; my further hunch was that the better play would be 1st Round Leader. The markers have been appearing, and he is either really overdue for something prominent, or he's a good bit over regarded in my pecking order.

Matchups:

Singh(-105) over S.Hansen (Tournament)

Well thats gay, the round is suspended  Not sure how this will effect the plays. Monty was stumbling around as I expected until that eagle :(

Who is operating this tourney? Round 2 suspended for the day? My guys haven't even tee'd off yet.

Oh well, at least they will get a full round in, and hopefully shoot something under par.
