Duke averages almost 90 points per game. Fairfield averages about 71 per game. Duke has Clemson on deck.

seems like too many, but Duke can blowout anyone at home. esp the likes of Fairfield. line may go up.

TJ - agreed that line may go up but I think Duke finally hits on all cylinders in this one. Duhon has been critized for lack of scoring and both Ewing and Jones have not stepped up as everyone thought. I'd look for them to score close to 100 and keep up the defense pressure they showed in the first half against Dayton. Coach K has never been one to limit player's minutes before a big game as he believes every minute is another learning experience. Duke rolls...

Bigdad2, I may agree here. Think this is one of those games where you take the points only later, after Duke rolls by 35+, you say "why did I take Fairfield??"

Does anyone else think Duke rolls???

Thanks for the reply BD2!!! :D

Please remember that Duke's "third string' are basically all McD's All Americans, Some state Player of the Year in high school, etc. Fairfield doesn't even have one such player on their team.

Duke has had real problems this year with teams coming back on them in the second half. Duke has the superior talent (plus they are in Cameron, although it should be dead with the students home and a mid-day Thursday game) and usually shows it during the first half of the game. The second half is a totally different story as Duke goes to a slow-down, half court game. They have done this over the years and it usually wins them the game but lets some poor teams get back door covers. This has been really evident this year as the team has performed the slow-down game very poorly. Dayton was getting crushed and got the lead down to 5 (I think) in the closing minutes. Duke may blow them out by 40 but as a Duke fan I doubt it. I'm playing the 1st half at -15 and the game at Fairfield +27. I look for Duke to be up by around 20 at the half but to only win by around 20. But what do I know? Plus the coach at Fairfield is a former Duke assistant.

Grama - Also took Duke for 1 unit

TJ - I'm a HUGE Duke fan and watch almost every game. Actually took Dayton last game and cashed in a nice ticket. The biggest lead they have had at halftime all season was 19 against Michigan and only won that game by 21? With OSU and Dayton they had big leads but lost them late and with OSU they let a 23 point deficit get to 6 with 2:00 remaining. This year's team has generally had their big runs early in the second half. Anyone who has watched Duke play knows that the really good teams always have a spurt when they take a 12 point lead and make it 28 before you can blink. The one setback is that Coack K has never had the knockout punch with any of his teams. Regardless I think he will have them fired up to play at their full potential tonight. Granted this is not one of the stronger Duke teams in the past 5 years and their ranking is too high, they should still be able to cover here...

Good luck
