Any early takers on this game tomorrow?

I'm far from hot, but love this position the Ramsw are in. They're playing for way more (playoffs), while Philly win means nothing. Owens is out, no reason for Eagles to risk losing other starters.

Bulger is back and in the Dome, translates into a big win IMO.

I think you guys are wrong Phily is going out and playin the way Reggie White played in his "hall of fame" career; to win and play 110% start to finish, not rest everyone because where in playoffs and we dont want to break a fingernail pussys like the falcons. Just my opinion but I think this win is for Reggie tonite. Peace,Love,& Happiness. DickyV

"Eagles fly into postseason
Kudos to Andy Reid's Eagles for clinching the NFC East in Week 12. It's wonderful, and in a way, they have to watch it. For the Eagles to maintain a level of concentration between now and the playoffs (which are a long way off), they have to be motivated to clinch home-field advantage.

That said, if the Eagles find themselves up big in a game in the coming weeks, Reid must remove his key starters. I hated to have to do it when I coached, but I did. We even didn't play our starters if we had a meaningless game at the end of the season. Our backups would not only give the starters some rest, but also would give them some experience. It might cost you the game, but if it means nothing, what's the difference? The Eagles are a long way away from doing that, but if Reid's team is up 41-10 or something like that, then it's time to sit Donovan McNabb and others. "

Reid will not want to risk his starters. Only trouble is maybe Philly wants to prove they can win without T Owens.

St Louis has to win to stay alive in the playoff hunt.

(12/25/04):

Eagles unsure of playing rotation

PHILADELPHIA - No, this won't be like any given Monday night when the Eagles take on the Rams in St. Louis, according to the three wise men known as Andy Reid's coordinators.

While the ultimate goal - winning - remains the same, the formula for achieving victory will be considerably different. And that has nothing to do with Terrell Owens being out of the lineup.

"I really don't see it changing," said offensive coordinator Brad Childress. "We have a set way we attack defenses with formations and personnel, with a group of plays that is our menu. That's what we do and what we'll continue to do. We're not doing anything different from what we usually do."

The difference comes with the players who will be on the Edward Jones Dome field. While neither Childress nor defensive coordinator Jim Johnson would reveal exactly which players would be coming off the field at what point of the game, it seems pretty clear that by some time point in the second half, Donovan McNabb, Brian Westbrook, Brian Dawkins and Jevon Kearse will be sitting.

"When we have that first group out there we're still going to have our same rotation," explained Johnson. "I wish I had a blueprint of exactly what we're going to do. We're still going to try to be as aggressive as we can. I do know certain guys are going to play a certain number of plays. We'll kind of go from there."

Childress did suggest one intriguing thing when asked how scaled down the offense will be against a team they could conceivably meet again in just a few weeks.

"There's two schools of thought to that," said Childress. "Either you don't want to show much or you show a lot, because the next team you play is only going to have a week to prepare. Give them a lot to think about or a little."

Which leaves special teams coordinator John Harbaugh sort of stuck in the middle, since the trickle-down effect of having so many reserves filling in at key spots is bound to have an effect on his unit.

"The depth chart's not difficult," said Harbaugh. "We're just playing a lot more people, which means those guys are taking a lot more snaps. But we don't expect to play any less well on special teams or less hard."

Played the Rams big here -3 (even).

I think the key to the game will be for the Rams to weather the storm the first quarter or so. You know the Eagles want to put together at least a couple of good drives with their playoff starters, and get a good feel for how they will score with/out T.O. Once they establish a rythym and feel comfortable, I believe they will be satisfied to rest the starters.

Just my take, glta.

Congrats to all Rams bettors. What a scary game though. Not at ease here the whole game as the Rams were from from convincing against a bunch of nobodies playing for Philly.

I would imagine the Jets would be the team to take next week based on St Louis performance today.
