Dont know how many of you are watching the Mosconi Cup of 9 ball pool between Europe and the USA in Las Vegas.

Earl Strickland must be the most ignorant man I have ever seen in professional sport. He is an absolute disgrace to your country.

CC Yep a real prick. You have to understand that in Europe billiards and such is quite a gentlemens sport, where in U.S. most players came from bar and pool hall hustling atmosphere. It has just been in last decade the sport has been given respectable icon. I used to be addicted to the game but when they started pulling guns and knives instead of going outside and duking it out I reverted to golf. Best move I ever made.Much better company.:)

I hope this is not news to you, Earl has been a prick for years, ranting, screaming, refusing a handshake, etc...

Saw him play at CJ Wileys place in Dallas a few years ago, same story, terrible loser.

DTB,

I understand where you are coming from, but that is hardly a excuse on his part. A lot of players in Amercian sports come from poor backgrounds, or should I say, ungentlemanly backgrounds, but at this level of professional sport, you at least learn some decency.

It is not news to me about Strickland. I too saw him play in the World Championship in Cardiff last year, and he was sulking then, and had a big fall out with the British crowd.

I wonder how he gets on with his fellow members of the American team. One thing I know, if I was selecting a team, I would leave Earl right out of my calculations.

Looking forward to seeing him next year when he comes back to the UK. Perhaps I will get the opportunity to have this discussion with the man himself.

I suspect there will be a lot of fellow Britons waiting in the same queue. ;)
