Your on the right track, TURNOVER PRONE Favre laying 7 points on TURF IN A DOME???? Pack defense is hurting and OVERRATED. People wanted to give them the Superbowl after they smoked DETROIT, CAROLINA, and WASHINGTON??? Look at when they play any quality opponents.

ROD Smith sprained right ankle expected to miss the game, KENNISON gone, where's the receiving gonna come from??? Take Dallas at +6.5 they play hard and sound defense..

anyone that bets either of the turkey day games is truly a compulsive gambler and deserves to lose their money...

Green Bay is hurting and you just never know what give it away Brett will do. At the same time, I would have a hard time finding value in a Lions team that gave up 45 to the Arizona Cardinals???

Denver: I don't know if they could score vs. Kansas, Wyoming, Houston, San Jose State or Vanderbilt right now. If anyone watched the Washington game you would echo my sentiments. There is just something wrong with them. It started in the San Diego game and has stuck. Griese is just not very good and their O-line is getting manhandled. At the same time, how many scores will cryin' Ryan give away ??? I would be holding my breath every time Dallas had the ball on offense if I was counting on them to win it for me.

Just a thought. Maybe someone sees something that I don't.

Whatever you do,,,,

Have a Happy Thanksgiving. Be thankful, because there is someone that has much less than you do out there right now.

rare appearance, indeed. i have a feeling we could use some of your comments here. nice going in the contest. wash again?

raymond

it may just be that we are witnessing a tremendous team in the making with wash, and not so much a denver collapse. true that they don't have the defense to generate points in dallas (like philly), but dallas doesn't have much of an offensive threat either, so you would still have to give the nod to denver. whether they cover (they should) or not, that is something else.

i don't really care much about either one, but just did that superteaser for the hell of it, and with all the intentions of cashing it.

raider: that is a tough one taking dallas, especially because they are so error prone, but then again, who knows.

pep,

I think your comments about Washington hit home. Since beginning of LAST season, they were supposed to be this great team based on 'paper' stats and players combined together. I never bought into that and received much value fading them last year and early this year, including going against them on ML when they were 7-10 point favorites (not much beats cashing a ticket of +300
biggrin.gif
). They have since started to 'come together' as a team and are playing much better ball in recent weaks. They were my best bet last week and I think they may be again this week. +8.5 vs Philly looks an awful lot of vegas not accomadating for the ball they are playing in the line. I agree Philly is clicking on many cylanders right now, but who have they beat up on? Dallas, Arizona...NY....

I really think Washington won the game more than Denver losing it. Denver should bounce back against Dallas, even on Turkey day. Washington should play competitive versus Philly on Sunday. my 2 cents for what they are worth.....

Injuries or not, I think this is an excellent bounce-back situation for Denver. Coming off a half-hearted loss, facing one of the two weakest teams in the league right now (the other one being Carolina).

I've already got the -6? in, and at this point I am about 90% sure it will be my only NFL play of the day.

raider, for your info.

as per pinnacle's (mj/sportsbooks) lines:

detroit +101
g.b. -111
6.5

denver -103
dallas -107
6.5

and in early betting, a notable:

s.f. +105
indy -115
2.5 (i guess this line will move up)

two things stand out here:

lob-sided betting on g.b. and indy. in dallas, dallas slightly ahead in the betting. for whatever they mean.

Pepin: I agree with your assesment that Washington is coming together. However, I still think that Denver is in an offensive freefall. With Rod Smith hobbling around and no continuity running the ball they all of a sudden look lost and stale. Their swiss cheese defense has actually done well since that debacle in Oakland a couple of weeks ago. I do find some value in teasing Denver. I think that if they lose it is by a freak saftey

Take DETroit +7 POINTS.

In the eyes of the Public the Pack is an ELITE team, and that is reflected in the line that Vegas puts out. The truth of the matter is that there Defense is suspect at best. As the season progresses it becomes harder for a team to keep losing than to win one. Favre is a prototypical QB for Grass and cold weather, he can't get the job done in Domes over his career. This line should be 3 GB but Vegas knows public money willbe heavy on GB. Lions are banged up on Defense, but anybody who thinks that matters, just keep in mind what did Favre do against possibly the worst secondary this decade the VIKINGS????

If you told me Denver was without Davis, Smith and Mcaffrey, and still favored by 6.5 points?? Can Denver win with the receiving core of Kasper, Poole and Montgomery?? If Dallas commits to the run it will shorten the game and limit turnovers that Leaf could make. Dallas plays hard at home and should be able to contain a very weak Denver offense.
Take Dallas +6.5 points

Hey Cobra, I am a big time Dallas fan, however I'm worried that the 6.5 that the linesmaker gives Dallas may be the only points they get. Leaf still needs to show something. If the kid from Baytown, Texas, Stoerner was to start, I'd play Dallas.

Keep it Positive, Topdog

TopDog then play the Under, I'm expecting a low scoring game barring numerous fluke touchdowns, the teams will destruct in the red zone. With a short week look for a low scoring affair.
