I know it's early, but then again it's not that early...Interested to see who you all have slated to play in the Fiesta Bowl...

I'll go with Ohio St. vs Oklahoma...

Like last year the winner of Ohio State-Texas will be one of them.

The pre-season love for OU is pure insanity.

I actually think USC will probably be the other team.

My guess is WVa could be undefeated and they wont be playing in the title game. The schedule is simply too weak, and they will lose at Louisville anyway.

Wont matter....just about any team in the Top 10 with one loss will be ahead of them. They wont even pass the Ohio State-Texas loser in the polls.

sun is right. west virginia is going to be very, very good, but they prob will finish the regular season with one loss (at louisville) and even if they were to go undefeated, the big east is going to kill them. its not their fault, but a one-loss osu or texas would be taken over wvu.

If Texas beats Ohio State and Oklahoma beats Oregon, then the winner of that game has a great shot assuming there are not more than two undefeated teams.

Obviously I am as biased as Sun, but I will take the tean with the returning QB over the team with a brand new one.

I say OU vs. USC

I know Oklahoma will be improved, but National Championship game? I still think Bomar is weak. OU also has more concerns defensively than in past seasons.

I can't wait for Texas/Ohio State. First huge game of the season.

And I have seen Bomar play and know how bad the OU offensive line is.

OU should be very good defensively if they get some decent secondary play. The front 7 is very good.

besides nd.being picked #1 by some publications, oklahoma is picked #1 in atlon & phil steels publications....

i don't see any team from the sec as #1 only because that conference is too competitve & teams will probably knock each other off.

i also agree with sun that w. virg.will not be #1 because of easy schedule.

usc has a shot but they play calif.& n.d. b2b but those games are at home.

i think the #1 team may finish this year with at least one loss.

i think it will come down to either okla. or ohio st....how's that for going out on a limb (lol).

Sun what are you talking about. If WV is undefeated they will EASILY be in the title game. Last year they showed they belong with everyone else. Will they go undefeated probably not. I dont see anyone going undefeated this year; just like every year its very difficult to go undefeated. As far as everyone preseason love for OU; where is that coming from; some have OU high some have them at the bottom of the top 10. Its a preaseason poll who cares they dont matter anyways. Big surprise you have the winner of the OSU/Texas game as going to the NC title game. You never answered me as far as making a bet on the game. I will take the game as a pick. You can poke holes in every team in the top 10. Ohio State has 1 returning player on defense and lost their best receiver. Texas lost their best off player and QB and lost their best defensive players and alot of other great players. ND returns the same defense that just gave up 100 points in their bowl game. If anything WV considering their SOS should be favored to be in NC game; if ND gets their defense in gear than they have a chance also.
Its preaseason polls who even cares.

this is who wvir. plays....

marshall
e.wash.
maryland
at e. carolina
at miss. st.
syracuse
at conn.
at louisville
cin.
at pitts.
s. fla.
rutgers

that's only 1possible top 10 team & maybe 1 or 2 top 25 team.....

based on the above if wvir. goes undefeated they will not play for the championship.....

Oh my gosh that schedule is awful...It all hinges on the Louisville game and how good Louisville is up until that point. WV better hope it's a battle of the unbeatens at that stage in the season, b/c I see 2 possible (and that is stretching it) top 25 teams in Maryland and Pitt.

if WV is undefeated and they are the only undefeated team they will play; if there are 3 undefeated teams then WV will play; if they beat Louiville who has a chance to beat Miami alone will be enough; its not like they are from the Sunbelt conference; I dont even like WV but anyone says that if they run the table they will be left out is just kidding themselves.

"if there are 3 undefeated teams then WV will play" Yeah right.

If there are 3 undefeated teams, WVU is getting left out. I think WVU loses @ Pitt or @ Louisville.

based on that schedule i don't believe w. vir. will play for the nc if they are undefeated & 2 other teams have 1 loss apiece.
