Hawaii+ the points. BYU had trouble with a syracuse team that has a option QB that can't run the option and can't throw the football,8-24 -2 the line on RJ Anderson, game was close in the 3rd,before an uninspired coach pasqualoni team gave up.This game reminds me of the Wis-Fresno game. Hawaii is the better team, with the better coach. What has changed to make Byu 10 points better?

two reason might be that this will be UH QB Chang's first test in a big hostile stadium, and that UH historically is at a larger disadvantage on the road than other teams b/c of the travel distance

Two very good teams

Two very good coaches

Two very good qb's

Both teams on a "mission"

desissions, desissions?

I see a scoreless tie

Wait...

that last prediction doesn't count cause my wife was talking to me and interrupted my train of thought.

slight lean...hawaii +10'

bryanz i believe the reasons byu is favored is 1st they are at
home, 2nd the distance hu has to travel, and 3rd is the altitude
with this being early in the season will be a larger factor than
later on when it cools down a little.

i think for my money and enjoyment will take the over even as high
as it is and holler for both teams . this game should be a lot of
fun to watch. just my thoughts & GOOD LUCK TONIGHT & WEEKEND.

s-love :this is the first big test for both QB,s/ Fed:revenge has many variables+ you have the points to overcome+I am 1-0-vs- revenge so far/ Acehistr:Jones has only coached in one game -vs- BYU,1-0/K-line :I agree, but 10+points?If you go back to last year and look at byu down the stretch, they played some close games when they moved up in class, and then got beat by Lvill & Hawaii. These are the same coaches with the same systems and I think with the changes, Hawaii is still the better team. All we can say about byu is, they beat a one dimensional team in Syracuse.Hawaii will jump off the page at these guys!!!

Traditionally-

Hawaii does not do all that well when they come to the mainland, but they seem to rule when on the Island. everyone is screaming for the over, which scares me off of it. But I do agree that Hawaii is the way to go in this game.

FYI. All summer, the media was touting Hawaii's defense as vastly improved. Well, the Eastern Illinois game disspelled that as EIU's offense generated over 450 yds in offense. As a faithful Hawaii backer, this alarmed me to no end. But, after dissecting the game, I still believe Hawaii has a better defense that should prove to be surprising. First of all, EIU is a top level 1-AA team that had a lot of returnees and finished 3rd or 4th best @ the 1-AA level last yr Granted, it is a lower division but their top teams can give any Div 1-A team a battle and EIU is predicted to finish in the top echelon this year.. Their offense is like a pro set and is one that gave Hawaii many looks. When Hawaii's D finally settled down, they got separation. Jones freely substituted mid 3rd qtr. Believe me, EIU's QB and running back can play for any Div 1-A team. Jones does not believe in contact scrimmages hence their practice was very limited to run throughs. I believe their defense is now better "battled tested" and better prepared for trench warfare. Unless slowed by the weather and rough-like grass, Hawaii's overall speed will overcome BYU. Just my humble (biased) opinion. Will take Hawaii and the pts and pray that the weather holds up for the "track meet" which spells Over.

I am not a big believer in Chang, Hawaii's two big playmakers last year their quarterback who replaced an injured Chang last year and their stud reciever Ashleigh Leili who move on to the NFL are both gone. Add the revenge factor and home field and BYU may blow Hawaii out!
