Maybe someone on here can help me out???

A few weeks ago I used Tivo to record the USC-Notre Dame game. Because it turned out to be such a classic, I have thought about using my dvd burner to burn copies and put it on ebay. This is obviously a copyright infringement but I figure there are a few USC fans who might like to have a copy of this and a way for me to make a few bucks.
For anyone who wants to bash me for not caring about intellectual property rights I would have to say that I don't really care.

I have searched for years to buy authorized copies of past sporting events such as Hagler vs. Leonard, Knicks vs. Pacers playoffs, and games from the 1985 Bears with NO luck. In addition I have seen games from that '85 Bears season up for bid on ebay.

My question is do you think I would catch any flack for putting a copy of this game up for bid?

Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks

Definitely, you could be risking the chance of getting sued. I would just sell copies to people I knew, wouldn't put it on ebay. Ebay may not let you put in on their site anyways.

It's all in how you word it. Make it so bidders are bidding on a dvd case. As a free bonus, the winner of the dvd case will also receive the USC-Notre Dame dvd. I see people doing this all the time to get around ebay's copyright policies.

Godsfavoritedog is right. I remember when I was trying to buy Pistons playoff tickets sellers listed them as an addition to a T-shirt just cause in Michigan when you sell tickets on ebay you can ask only one dollar more than the face value is.

People do it this way but lets be honest here guys copyright infringement is the same either way you frame it. IF someone wanted to sue you for it do you think that argument would hold up in a court of law? Not a chance......

But with that said, I say go ahead and sell it. Nobody is going to sue you about it those people have way bigger fish to fry than someone trying to make a couple of hundred bucks. This is coming from experience.
