In 1970, Osmond joined the Los Angeles Police Department, serving as an officer until he was struck by five bullets during a chase with a suspected car thief and placed on disability before his retirement in 1988.
How many of you during the last 50 years have described one of your acquaintances or a person as a EDDIE HASKELL "type"? :0003 It's not like you can use it to people under 50, but even recently when someone asked me about a young adult who played the "MR CLEAVER/MRS CLEAVER" routine with adults, I said, "He's a Eddie Haskell type." They knew exactly what I meant. RIP EDDIE :0008
as an assistant principal and principal for almost 20 years I kept a file at the 3 schools I was in " Eddie haskell file" .. A well liked student ,big time get over and a great bull shitter.. was not suspended but did lots of time in detention and in school suspension ..made excuses for everything.. but was always respectful .. he could bee seen on the security camera's leaving school early yet when he denied it and you showed him the video he would admit it was me.. what is my punishment and can you not send a letter home or make a call ..I promise to tell my parents about it... lol
when the year was over and the haskills graduated they always wrote in my year book a nice and sweet comment
On facebook I have about 5 or 6 Eddie haskell kids that friended me . .they are policemen,firemen,correction officers etc they all married and have families with there own kids.. and everyone that I write a message to I say " you still owe me 3 detentions and in school suspension.. they all laugh and agree .. these guys don't know they were my Eddie Haskells ...they never heard of him ,,, but they were mine Haskells..

The news of my demise is greatly exaggerated. However, Mr. Ken Osmond did move on to that great Elm Avenue in the sky this date.
