At those numbers for Minnesota, a bet on Emmer would be a smart play. Here is the latest Rasmussen poll, and I'm guessing it's pretty close to the climate of the state at the moment:

Rasmussen Poll: MN Gov race a dead heat

A new poll released by Rasmussen Reports shows Democrat Mark Dayton and Republican Tom Emmer in a dead heat. The poll, taken on September 22nd, shows Emmer with the support of 42 percent of those polled. Dayton has the support of 41 percent of those polled. The Independence Party's Tom Horner received nine percent support. Two percent of those polled are undecided. The margin of error is plus or minus four percentage points. (Note: The poll includes leaners).

Update: A closer look at the poll shows a different set of numbers when you take away the leaners. Emmer edges Dayton 36% to 34%, and Horner receives the support of 18 percent of those polled.

Emmer is a drunk, a driving drunk, but will carry the Pawlenty folks, and will get some crossovers. This state has many Independents, and their candidate is a good one, a well-known ad exec from the Cities (whom I kind of like). Dayton is one of the "chosen ones" a cake eater that had the Senate seat and did nothing particularly good or bad. I think name recognition will be big with him, but it could be as bad as good in the current environment.

I'll ask a VERY plugged in democrat (has an elected position in Minneapolis) about what he thinks, and I'll report back. As of now, I'd say a MN flier on Tom Emmer wouldn't be a bad play at +250.
