what i saw was a not well planned offense, which means the whole game, not just the last desperate minutes. a well coached, good team, would have put tampa away at the bell, if not in the first half.
they had some flashes of a good play here and there, but it wasn't enough. when a team is clicking, there are constant fake plays, passing on any down, etc. that has a way of neutralizing the tough defense, but when you telegraph your passing plays on 3rd downs, you make the opposing defense great.
allstat? gets the benefit, just like last week, of everyone trying to snatch the ball loose toward the end of the game, and leading to an additional score.
i cashed with a 4 way superteaser, so i am not biased one way or the other, but phoenix's point is valid: either a very desperate play, or kick and put the pressure on tampa, them knowing that a fumble or interception could cost them the game. use the timeouts and let your defense do what your offense can't.
the way tampa was all over grbac, knowing when the pass was coming, there is no way he could have come up with the big play. yes, he is of the mediocre kind, and that is a fact, but there is also the play calling and game plan, which is not his. how can you help not being intercepted when you are constantly forced to pass on 3rd downs and have these guys all over you. even warner knows what that is about.
it was only toward the end of the game that they actually passed on 1st and 2nd downs, a nd it worked fine, except they had no good play to get the frik.... ball in.
yes, jack, i watched the near miss and the seconds tick down to the 4th quarter, just like you did.
