teri hatcher +111 (semi-lock)

deadwood +300 (tho Lost is fave)

take both spader 2/1 and Mcshane 3/1 to win best actor---its too close to call but will be shocked if both get beaten out and U will make 50%-100% profit

I fully realize this is a self indictment, but ive watched a ton of TV in my life and Im not sure Ive ever seen a better writer (borderline genius) than David Milch ... for those who have never seen Deadwood, and like westerns, you must check out its incredible dialogue, action, twists and turns, comedy, and graphic realism ... Im just blown away by this show ... Im currently 1/2 thru season two. I buy the dvds as the seasons end and watch ... Deadwood IMHO, is far and away most innovative and best written show out there right now ... McShane is amazing as an actor ... Im not sure either will win in my bets, but damn they are solid losers if they go down ...

fwiw the other best hour long drama shows Ive ever seen are

Sopranos
NYPD Blue
Hill Street Blues
The Wire
Boston Public
(all the law and orders are great, too)
* I'm sure im missing some

hatcher (+100) is a great pick, could only possibly get beaten by cross (+400), and thats a real longshot. i personally think hugh laurie from house is a possible threat at +500 for your spader and mcshane pick pt1. housewives at -240 will win so easily for best comedy, although arrested deserves to win.

you are definitely missing the shield. if you haven't seen it, pick up the first four seasons or rent them on dvd. you really won't be disappointed.

like deadwood myself, but only watched the 1st season on dvd. haven't seen the 2nd yet as i can't find a tivo time when something else isn't taping to record it as season going on.

i think it won't win though. emmys have seen little publicly supported shows such as arrested development win, but the sheer magnitude of the fan base of lost and housewifes should see those two win easily.

as for spader, that guy is great in boston legal. only problem with the show is that it was a short season, not as many episodes as a full season usually is, plus he won last year. it seemed to me abc just yanked boston legal with no season finale or fanfare. i know its coming back in a few weeks, but they just put some hospital show in its timeslot with no explanation. personally i think william shattner should at least be nominated sometime, hes great on that show.

Deadwood for sure, that was a nice daily double sunday night..Sopranos followed by Deadwood.
NYPD Blue was a big time early favorite for me...
I am talking when the show first came out with David Caruso. When Caruso left Jimmy Smits took over and he did not miss a beat, he was solid, but after he left it fell out of favoite for me.You can`t beat the law and orders,i also watched Boston Public,Jeri Ryan was hot(lol).Of course Hill street blues,we are going a ways back there.Hill street aired from 81-87.Steven Bochco, thumbs up.

Taking Close to win best actress -175. Hedging it with Hagarity-sp? chick +325. These are the only 2 being talked about. Should cash on Close or break even if the other wins it.
