Seriously, I have lost bets before I don't care, but how as a coach in a tie game with 45 seconds left and 3 timeouts do not utilize them

Whats even as strange was Day taking his last timeout with 12 seconds left....why not let the clock run down to 2-3 seconds and kick the game winner as time expires?
They already gave up a kick return for a td and multiple other long kick returns.....strange to leave 9 seconds on the clock for a kick and possibly 1 offensive play.
