I'll keep my record here so people can see, but its all just small stakes for fun.

I don't believe anyone can make a profit in the long term better on soccer, especially the top league games. Well, I certainly can't.

If I get time I'll try to post my thoughts on the next days games.

Record so far, unit stake 100 Pounds ($125-ish). All odds are from Bet365.com

Iceland or Draw vs Argentina at 6/4 for 5 Units = + 7.5 Units (I never posted this, just my personal tournament record here - I'll try to post all my picks going forward although I often play in-running which means its hard to post. Basically, just trust me - LOL)

Mexico 7/1 to beat Germany for 2 Units = +14 Units

So far + 21.5 Units

My thoughts for tomorrow:

Sweden/South Korea: Not in love with this match. Sweden impressively beat Italy in a playoff to qualify, South Korea were laughingly poor in qualifying but here they are. Sweden at close to Even money are plenty short enough IMHO. Sweden do keep it tight at the back though so maybe "Sweden to win to nil" at 15/8 might work, but I'm sitting this one out.

Belgium/Panama: Just look at the Bel line up....you can seriously make the argument they are the best team in the tournament on paper, but unfortunately for Roberto Martinez the games are not played on paper - and unfortunately for Belgium, he is there coach. At 1/6 Belgium offer no value. Panama beat Costa Rica to qualify, so they have something. I strongly advise not to lay such a short price on Belgium. Given how all the big teams have struggled so far (well, not Spain or Portugal, but you get my drift) I'm going to lose self discipline and try;

Panama/Draw 9/2 for 1 Unit. I'm not sure this has any value either, but I'm not going to sit in front of this whole game and not do something!!!

Tunisia/England: Laughing at the English press.....reminding everyone that England beat Tunisia easily in the group stages in 1998. Well, that's relevant then!!!

Tunisia are not crap, and England are, well....what exactly? Maybe we will play well, maybe not. But in our first serious game since Iceland beat us 2-1 in Euro 2016, I'm not brimming with confidence. Frankly, this is not a great team of individual players.....maybe they will put it all together somehow but we have been here many times before. Anyway, for the same reason as above (lack of discipline) I'm doing:

Tunisia/Draw 9/5 for 2 Units. So much uncertainty here, and 4/9 for England to win is frankly ludicrous.

Good luck all.

That was brilliant. Thanks Snafu.

Why am I filled right now with overwhelming optimism that we will crush any team that stands in our way????

LOL

Its an English disease. Convinced of our superiority with no evidence at all to back it up. Quite the contrary in fact.

My heart says we win easily.

My head says a draw is very likely. And defeat is not out of the question, obviously.

The biggest flaw is that they simply can not finish. Too many easy chances not taken advantage of. Tunisia will get worn out, I see an English victory. All games today tied at half and favorite wins!!

Yesterday -8 Units (I made a big in-running bet I couldn't post - you know how that turned out!)

Running total for tourney: +12.5 Units

Today: Early game Japan/Draw at 23/20 for 5 Units.

Good luck chaps.
