Espn said Mayweather was denied a $ 400,000 wager on the under 9 1/2 rounds for his fight vs. McGregor.......It was at The "M" sportsbook..........
and then he tried to bet on himself ....looks like they "M" wasn't too keen on that either...
But the story goes on to say his cronies go 76,000 down somewhere...

Google: Mayweather denied wager on his fight....story came up in bold letters...it flying around facebook too.

I dont see a problem with a boxer trying to get a bet down on himself, as long as he isn't wagering on a specific outcome, like by KO or decision. If I were mayweather, I'd have tried to bet on myself too!

Betting on yourself or your team in baseball, especially if you're the manager, is totally different. Trying to win a game you have money on could influence certain players' usage throughout the game, such as the bullpen. Boxing is a sporting event involving just two individuals, exclusive of the judges and ref. If you are just betting on yourself to win an individual event, regardless of how it is achieved, it doesn't really make a difference. There are many different factors that can influence the outcome of a baseball game, including using your star pitchers too long or electing to use a guy that should have a day off.
