ENGLAND FAVOURITES FOR EURO 2004
England are the new 9/2 favourites with Coral to win the 2004 European Championships following their impressive form in the World Cup.
Coral cut England to 9/2 from 6/1 after laying several large bets including one of ?2,000 from a telephone betting client.
"With the hosts Portugal and the champions France both disappointing in the World Cup, England are worthy favourites for Euro 2004," said Coral spokesman Simon Clare.
"If England win the World Cup those odds will tumble."
France were the 7/2 favourites but can now be backed at 5/1. Italy are 11/2 with Holland 6/1, Spain 13/2, Germany 7/1 and hosts Portugal 9/1. The Republic of Ireland are 33/1 shots.
